When he tries to show off - Cole

"Everyone thinks Jay is the only one who can decently use tools." You said, looking over your boyfriends shoulder. "They're right."
"No, they're wrong." Cole insisted, hammering another nail into a piece of wood. "Building a bird house doesn't take a while lot of thinking y/n."
"Cole..... that piece of wood you just hammered a nail into wasn't even attached to anything."
"....It's a part of the process."
Rolling your eyes, you continued to watch as your boyfriend went on with his work. Your mom had asked him to make her a new bird house, since her old one was stolen a few nights ago (who steals a bird house?)
Cole knew your mom still was wary of his dating you, so he was eager to show off for her as much as he can without seeming egotistical.
You had to admit, it was a pretty decent bird house.
If it's goal was to impale any bird who came near it.
Nails stuck out everywhere, and, for some reason, the roof was made out of sand paper.
Cole caught your confused look, and sighed in exasperation. "Do I need to explain it? The nails are to keep the squirrels from eating the food. And the sand paper is for when they want to file their talons or something."
Despite yourself, you started laughing, and Cole puffed his cheeks out at you in annoyance.
"Cole, I know you mean well" even though sometimes it doesn't seem like it, you didn't add "but.... you do realize nothing's stopping the birds from hurting themselves on the nails as well, right?"
Cole opened his mouth to argue, then closed it, realization crossing his face.
"Oh god, I just created a death trap for small animals."

And after that he smashed it with a hammer.

No animals were harmed in the making of this scenario.
