            Draven's POV
The bullet hits the center of the target as I pull the trigger of the gun. My arms are starting to feel sore from holding my arms out for nearly two hours. I texted Cata the address of where I am so she could come by, since I want to see her and to make sure she's okay from last night.
I'm surprised that I did that to her and was that rough. Never have I done that anyone else; its just stayed a fantasy. Every time she would turn in her sleep, she would wince. This morning before I left, I tried to see her wrists for any obvious  bruising but couldn't cause her hands covering her face.
"You good?" Mark asks me as he puts his gun down. I nod.
"Yeah," I say. He shrugs his jacket off and stretches his arms out. My eyes land on the names Delilah and Marry tattooed on his forearms. "You and Delilah still good?"' I ask.
"Yeah, we're slowly easing out way back to how we were. She still doesn't like what I do, but understands that of she wants me this comes with," he tells me. "That's why I never wanted to reach out to you about taking your fathers place. I wasn't sure if you were in a relationship or had kids."
"No kids, but yeah. She kind of tries to steer away from me when it comes to this stuff though," I say. He cocks his head to the side.
"That's the thing with guys like us. We think they're stepping back, but it's actually us. We don't want them getting hurt, but we love them too much to leave. Just...I suggest you get out of this when you can."
"Its a legacy, that's why you wanted me. Who else would do this?" I say.
"A lot of us would kill to be first in command," he says. A car pulls up and parks. Cata gets out and fixes her skirt. She makes her way over to me and smiles awkwardly. "I'm Mark, we met briefly." She shakes his hand.
"Catalina," she replies. When she says her name, the Hispanic in her comes out and its cute. He nods once and look back at me.
"I'm gonna go call my little girl before I get in trouble," he says before running off. I set the gun on the stand and look down at Cata. I take her hand and see that there is a very obvious bruise.
"It doesn't hurt does it?" I ask nervously. She shakes her head and takes her hand out if mine to rest it in my waist with the other. "It doesn't hurt when you walk-"
"I mean, I would rather not, but it's bearable. Are you okay? Your never like this after we do that," she says. I pull her closer to me.
"I was just worried that I had hurt you, that's all. You look beautiful today," I say. She blushes and kisses me softly. She seems tense. "Are you okay?" I ask.
"My parents, they don't want to wait two months anymore," she says. My brows furrow. "The job wants her to start a week after summer starts. Which is in a week." My hands drop from her waist and I step back.
"This was gonna happen eventually right? You leave, make a new life, meet new people, leave behind everyone is this shitty town-"
"What's wrong with you?" She asks in surprise of my sudden outburst. "Just yesterday, you were saying how we'd find a way to make this work. Now your saying I'll move on and forget?"
I sigh and sit down on one of chairs. "Listen, I know that I'll wait for you, but I don't want you to do that. You should be able to move on and find someone new." She looks away from me. The conversation in had with Mark is getting to me. "I don't know what I'm saying."
She kneels down in front of me, taking my hands in hers. Hers are soft, whereas mine are calloused and rough. "Your pushing me back cause your scared of something. I'm not sure if I should ask what." I scuff.
"You shouldn't." I'm scared of loosing her because of something stupid. I'm scared of my own damn self.
"I've told you this before, I'm in for the ride. Don't block me out just cause your scared of getting hurt." I look down at the gravel.
"Isn't that what life's about? Hurt? Pain? Suffer?" She stands and looks around.
"So you don't want me waiting around for you when I leave?" I shake my head. She holds her hand out and puts whatever its holding in mine. Looking down at my own, I see its the ring. "There's no point in that promise if you don't believe it'll happen."
My eyes begin to water as I she walks away. I grab her arm and yank her back to me. Our lips making contact sends shocks through my body, just like the first time. Her arms wrap around my neck and her hands go to my hair. Mine stay at my sides, scared of what will happen if I touch her.
She pulls away slowly and kisses my cheek. "I love you," I say. She blinks back tears.
"I love you." With that she walks away. After watching the car drive off, I look at the ring in my hand.
