Paris was playing up its reputation as the city of love. It was absolutely great for tourism, so they were having every high schooler in the city do a creative writing or art project representing what love was to them.

While working on her project, Marinette couldn't help but think of her crush, Adrien.  He had gradually come to be what love meant to her. She wrote about her feelings for him as vaguely as she possibly could, but when she was done, she still hadn't met the minimum word count. She had plenty more she could say about him, but she was worried that someone, especially him, might read it and recognize who she was talking about.

"Why don't you write about your fantasy future with him?" Her best friend Alya suggested.

"WHAT?!" Marinette flushed bright red at her best friend's suggestion.

"Come on," Alya laughed "it won't be that bad if you don't name names."

Marinette agreed it couldn't hurt. In the end, she had to cut out quite a bit because it had gone over the maximum length.

"Have you read Adrien's yet?" Nino asked Alya as the class was milling around, looking at other people's projects.

"No, why?"

"I'd say he and Marinette collaborated if I didn't know better."

Alya scanned the paper, and could somewhat see what her friend saw in the boy. They were on the same wavelength.

"Their expectations are intense." She commented "Hardly anyone would be willing to put that much effort into giving attention to their romantic partner."

"You're right there. Should we tell them that unless they're willing to lower the bar, they're stuck with each other?"

"Nah, I think they already know that." Alya glanced over to where her friend was entrancedly watching the blond boy. "They just need a little longer to dance around the topic before they face it."
