Often Adrien would return from patrol or from fighting an akuma and consider all he knew about the girl he liked to call "M'Lady", despite having the realization that she had never given any indication that she would be willing to be his.

Contrary to what she seemed to assume, he in no way saw her as a person without flaw, he just felt that the wonderful aspects of her character far outweighed the negative. He was well awear that she could occasionally be harsh and unfair to people who had previously gotten on her bad side.

There were also those little imperfections that were more cute than anything else. Traits of her civilian form that she didn't know leaked through. The suit helped her physical prowess immensely, but on the other side of the mask she must be a complete and utter klutz based on the number of times she had managed to drop her yo-yo on his head. Why, she had even called herself maladroit the first time they had met.

It had been fairly obvious that "maladroit" had been her replacement for something else that she didn't mean for him to know, but she wasn't going to tell him just because he asked, so he decided not to challenge her on that until he had some idea what other word starting "ma" she could have intended to describe herself with.

It wasn't the only time she had switched what she was saying mid statement. There was that time she'd been stuttering in front of the baker's wife, and then almost called the baker "Papa".

Adrien sat up as a new thought occurred to him. At the time he'd brushed off her error as being similar to accidentally calling your teacher "Mom", but now he realized she'd acted nervous in front of the wife of that same man. She had stuttered out a "Ma" to that woman, one Adrien had assumed was the beginning of "Madam", but what if it had actually been "Maman"?! Could the baker and his wife really be Ladybug's parents?! Did they have a daughter his age?!

He wracked his brain for everything he knew about that couple. The closest he had ever been to them, he determined, was actually a lot closer than he'd expected. He'd been in their home when practicing for a videogame tournament with Marinette, their da-.

Oh. Now he felt stupid. Maybe oblivious was the better term. The bakery even bore the same name as her Dupain-Cheng. For personal reasons, likely related to her mother's Chinese heritage, her parents kept seperate last names. However, two things were dear enough to them to put their names on jointly. Second place was their business, first place was their daughter.

Adrien decided he could ignore this, just like he had countless other indications of her identity. Electing to avoid the awkward relationship that would be sure to result, and reasoning fate would decide when they were meant to face each other.

Or, he could use this information to fluster her. That would be cute. Even if it was easy to inflict upon her civilian form, she rarely if ever blushed as Ladybug. He bet he could make her, becauase she would not be able to deny it when he asked her why upon their very first meeting she had started to say "I'm Marinette."
