That most recent akuma was quite troubling to Adrien. It had focused its attack on a bakery near his school, one that a dear friend of his called home. If that weren't enough, two more worries stacked themselves one on top of the other, even after the akuma was defeated. His friend hadn't been home when he went to evacuate her, had she already been snatched away? Plus, it was the weekend, that meant he had to wait two days before he knew if she was okay.

Monday morning felt normal to Marinette. She slept through her alarm, got up, looked at her clock, panicked, dressed hurriedly, grabbed something to eat, and made it to school a half hour late. It was normal, that is, until her crush practically pounced on her.

"Marinette! You're okay!"

"Wah! Uh?" Marinette let herself be pulled into Adrien's embrace.

"I heard that your parents' bakery got attacked Friday night. Ladybug and Chat Noir got your parents out, but they couldn't find you. Then you weren't here when class started and I thought..."

"Adrien!" Nino laughed "Marinette's been at least half an hour late to class every day for longer than you've known her. She's on the early side today."

"Adrien, would you please let Marinette take her seat?" Miss Bustier reminded the boy "She's missed enough of the class already."

Only then did Adrien realized he still kept Marinette pinned to his chest, making a spectacle for the entire class. "Right," he let her go, chuckling a bit at his own behavior, but he sighed visibly in relief as he sat back down.

Marinette climbed to her seat beside Alya and put her flaming face in her hands. "What was that about?"

Alya poked her playfully "Girl, just accept it that your crush was totally worried sick about you."

"Maybe so, but that was still only friendly, even if overly so." Still, it put a smile on Marinette's face, it was nice to know that Adrien cared.

At that night's patrol, Chat was free of whatever care had been dragging him down the past two days. This did not go unnoticed by his partner.

"You seem to be in a good mood." Commented Ladybug.

"The girl from that bakery is safe!" Chat cheered.

Ladybug seemed unconcerned. "I told you she was."

"I know you did Bugaboo, but it still took a weight off my chest to see her talking and laughing at school today."

This caught Ladybug's attention. "You go to school with her?"

'Oops.' "Yes."

A smile played at Ladybug's lips. "Did? Did you tell her you'd been worried about her?"

"More than that, I embarrased her in front of the entire class." He heard Ladybug making some odd movements, but by the time his eyes were on her, she was bringing her arms back under control from their flailing session.

"Don't worry about it, Chat, it was very sweet of you to hug me."

"Oh, that's good, I-" Wait a second, this wasn't the her he had hugged, and he wasn't currently the he that had hugged her. He glanced at her face to confirm his suspicion. Her features were caught between the blush from her own predicament, and the smirk from the one she'd put him in. Yep, she knew it too.
