He'd had to do it, he'd had to take that shot. She'd stolen the center of his attention so strongly he feared he could never rebound. She so obviously liked him too, as evidenced by the way she fumbled with her words whenever he was near, and yet she remained just out-of-bounds. Previously, before their relationship had made the crossover into their daily lives, every attempt he'd made to court her had gone foul, ending in her deflection of his romantic travails. He feared being too forward about his feelings would be a violation of her trust. He wished he could call timeout, have the opportunity to block out his fears and get himself in zone for what was to come, but he couldn't stand on the sideline and turnover his chances without making an effort. Though his heart beat overtime, he took a shot at love - and when he did, he got nothing but Nette.
