A/n - I don't have the information to cite my source exactly. I watched a Soul Sisters' Cosplay/ Uptown Otaku pannel on YouTube and in it they read a fanfiction they'd found on Fanfiction.net. Here is my own spin on it.
The teacher had to leave the room, and no one was paying attention to their work. Alya cackled at something she read off of her phone. "You have to read this, Marinette! This one's priceless!"
"Is it another LadyNoir fanfiction?" Marinette asked flatly. "I doing care to read another one, thanks." She could not for the life of her figure out what this recent craze was about. It was bad enough that her partner was always telling her they belonged together. Now most of the city seemed to agree, and some people were going so far as to write stories imagining non-existent romances between the two.
"Okay, I'll read it to you then!" Alya said, clearly not getting the point. "Paris' beloved superheroes sat up near the top of the Eiffel Tower, far beyond the point where civilians were allowed to go. Despite the view, all they could see was each other. The two were locked in a passionate kiss that neither one wanted to break, but sadly, even superheroes eventually need air. 'Ladybug,' Chat Noir breathed, placing a hand on her hip 'all I want or need is an eye full of you.' 'Not here,' she scolded gently, running her fingers through his hair 'let's go somewhere more private.' Chat picked her up and -".
"ENOUGH!" Marinette interrupted. "I don't want to hear any more!" She had to hide that she was shaking a little bit. The mental image was really somewhat traumatizing to her."
"Oh, I remember that one!" Adrien turned around unexpectedly. "It was okay, but honestly, not one of my favorites. At least they made Chat pun, but he'd be sure to pull out some pet name for her, not just 'Ladybug', and she didn't play near hard enough to get in that fanfiction. After all, the real couple still aren't official yet."
Alya smirked, thinking that hearing it from Adrien would finally convince Marinette to get on board with the ship. Marinette, however, was horrified. "Adrien! Boat you? Uh, package? Ugh, I mean..."
"Do I ship them?" Adrien guessed. Marinette nodded.
"Oh boy I do!" He gushed "They're made for each other! Do you not think so?"
Just Marinette's luck, her crush shipped her with someone else. "I think she likes someone else." Marinette answered truthfully.
Until the teacher returned, Adrien - as kindly as he could manage while he was getting worked up over it - tried to convince Marinette why she was wrong.
Alya looked on, wondering why Marinette was so passionate about it she would argue Adrien on it.
Meanwhile, Nino was a little board, as his friends were taken up with a topic that didn't interest him much. He thought he'd try to shift the topic to something he could partake in. "I agree with you, Marinette. I'm not against them being a couple, but all those fanfictions are to mushy for me. However, there was this one I enjoyed that leaned more toward comedy than romance. It was called 'Love Square', and in it, she kept turning him down because she was in love with his civilian form."
That made Marinette laugh, just imagine as though Adrien were Chat Noir! Frighteningly enough, she found she could indeed imagine it. She'd better keep her imagination in check.
