Hungry Times

A/n - I'm combining ideas I came up with while reading two different people's work. I came up with the main idea while reading a one-shot I considered badly written, so I won't name names, but the author did include some cute Marinette/Plagg interaction.

Toward the end of the one-shot, I've included a scene that's a bit of a spin-off of something that happened in a Valentine's day special by JRArmitage.

"Plagg, no! I'm not getting you anything more to eat right now!" Adrien hissed at his cat kwami. Plagg shot Adrien a dirty look and flew away. There was no point in arguing with his human when he got like this. Adrien didn't pay attention to where his kwami went, assuming it was just to his locker to sulk. Boy was he wrong!

Plagg's stomach grumbled in annoyance, threatening to start nibbling its own lining if it didn't get something soon. "There, there," Plagg cooed, "I'll get you something soon. Hungry times call for desperate measures!"

--

"Psst! Ladybug!" Plagg demanded the familiar girl's attention. Marinette swung her head about, looking for whomever could have known to hail her by her other identity. The floating black creature, which she instantly realized must be a kwami, had located himself so close to her ear that she almost batted him out of the air by the mobilization of her pigtails.

"Who? Are you Chat Noir's kwami?! What are you doing here?!"

"Yes, I am - the name's Plagg, and A- Chat refuses to feed me!"

"Oh, you poor thing!" Marinette rummaged in her bag. "Do you want a cookie?"

"Do you have any cheese?"

Marinette looked at him questioningly. "Cheese? No, I don't."

"Then a cookie will do." Plagg shoved the whole thing in his mouth at once, chewing and swallowing before he decided he was best off earning the good favor of this potential back-up food source. "Thank you. Is there more?"

Marinette blinked. Tikki never asked for that much at a time. She reached her hand back in for the rest of her stash. "Uh, sure."

--

Adrien was worrying where his kwami could have gotten to. He wasn't in Adrien's bag, nor in his locker. There was no telling what that creature could get himself into.

He rounded the corner of a usually deserted hall and was horrified to see Plagg out in the open, talking to someone. "What do you think you're doing?!"

Marinette looked between her crush and the kwami, her blue eyes widening.  "Adrien... is he yours?!"

"Uh, yeah..." Adrien scratched the back of his head nervously. "I'm really sorry for any trouble he caused you. You can't let anyone else know about this, please."

Marinette nodded. "I won't tell anyone, but -" she narrowed her eyes at him, her typical nervousness in his presence forgotten due to her current displeasure with him, "he says you didn't feed him."

Adrien held up his hands. "That's not true! He had an entire wheel of camembert this morning!"

"It wasn't enough!" Plagg whined.

"You're a bottomless pit!" Adrien shot back.

"Oh, okay. I believe you; he just finished his sixth cookie, after all."

Adrien watched her curiously. "You're taking this extremely well. Meeting a magical being is a once in a lifetime experience, if even that."

Marinette chuckled, pondering her options before electing to willingly let her own secret slip. "This is actually my second time,  and I did not take it well on the first one."

Adrien looked at her incredulously. "When was that?!"

"Probably at the same time you got him. It was when I got my own kwami. I screamed and tried to trap her under a glass."

Adrien found himself unable to address Marinette at the moment, so he commented to Plagg instead. "That's why you went to her? She's Ladybug?"

"It's 'bout time you figured that out, Kid."
