Bargaining Chip Cookies

A/n - While I was writing Telltail Signs of Cataclysm, I wrote 'bargaining chip' and my autosuggest offered me 'cookies'. I knew immediately that that was the title of another one-shot, but it took me a while to figure out the content. I was inspired again by a LadyNoirShipping fanfiction, but this time it was switched.

"Tikki, spots off." Ladybug detransformed back into Marinette in the privacy of her own bedroom.

"Cheese!" The red kwami demanded as soon as she reappeared from out of the earrings.

"What?" Marinette asked, puzzled.

"Hey!" Tikki yelled "You're not my kid, you're Tikki's!" She looked down at her body "Drat! I switched bodies with Tikki again."

"If you're not Tikki, who are you then?" Marinette asked, a little wary now of this unknown being, despite it having the appearance and voice of her trusted friend.

"Oh don't worry kid." Tikki sighed "I'm still your ally. I'm Plagg, Chat Noir's kwami. Now get me cheese or I'll tell you Chat Noir's identity."

Marinette jumped up off her bed. "No, no, you don't need to do that, I'll find you some."

Tikki watched as Marinette dashed off down stairs, barely catching herself from making a tumble. "Fool," the kwami muttered "I wish those two would hurry up and face each other already, but as long as I can get some cheese out of it, I'll milk the situation for all it's worth."

Marinette returned a few minutes later with a chunk of cheese, but it wasn't camembert.

Tikki inspected it nonchalantly "Do you have any camembert?"

"No, I don't." Marinette answered, starting to get a little fed up with Plagg. Did Chat Noir have to put up with this guy all the time?

"Oh well, this will do." Tikki swallowed the cheese in one gulp and then made a face. "I forgot, cheese never tastes right when I'm in Tikki's body."

"So, this has happened before?"

"Yep. It always wears off after a few days, we just have to wait it out. And to think, we went almost two hundred years without having this sort of mishap. Now, I'm not eating any more cheese while I'm Tikki, do you have any cookies?"

"This is a bakery, knock yourself out."

Meanwhile, Adrien was expecting the immediate demand of cheese, but only got a mild "I used up all my energy, do you have anything I can eat?"

"You know where your cheese stash is."

Plagg looked for the source of the voice, wich certainly didn't sound like Marinette. "Adrien? ... Oh dear. It looks like Plagg and I must have swapped bodies."

"Um,"

"Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Tikki, Ladybug's kwami. I appear to have swapped bodies with Plagg, so we'll be working together for a while."

"Will you be able to change back?"

"Oh yes, this used to happen every decade or so, but not for almost two hundred years. It will wear off in a few days. I do need to eat something to recharge though."

Adrien went and got a wheel of cheese for Plagg, who only ate one slice. "Thank you."

"You're not having more?"

"Plagg only needs one slice to recharge, he likes to see how much he can get away with though."

"I'll have to remember that when I get him back." Adrien sat on his bed, looking thoughtful. Then he decided that the situation was under control enough for him to tend to his own interests. "What is M'Lady like under the mask?"
