"Nino, you should be able to find scissors on her sewing table. Adrien, check that drawer for pens."
Even though they were in Marinette's room, it was Alya telling the boys where to find supplies for their class project. Meanwhile, Marinette was trying to move her brain function past repeating one phrase. 'Adrien is in my bedroom. Adrien is in my bedroom!'
Nino returned right away with the scissors, but Adrien seemed to have gotten distracted looking at something else. "Hey, Marinette, what's this?"
Marinette went over to see what her crush had, and she had to fight herself to stay upright. This was not good. She'd never thought to hide that thing, because she never thought anyone would think anything of it. Even her inquisitive best friend had seen it many times and never considered it worth questioning. Adrien, however, seemed grossly intrigued. "Um... that's a... a box! Yeah! That's it! It's definitely a box. Just a simple box, certainly not a box to store anything miraculous. Why would I have anything like that just lying around in my bedroom?..."
Adrien looked between his rambling friend and the dark brown, octagonal, wooden box, with a Chinese inscription in gold. Usually, he had no idea why Marinette went into one of her panics, but this time the reason was clear to him. "It's the box to your earrings," he realized out loud.
"Uh... Yeah... that's what it is..."
Adrien put a comforting hand on Marinette's shoulder. "Let's work on our project now; I'd like to know more about this later."
Alya exchanged a confused look with Nino. "It must be something significant in the fashion industry - that's why you and I don't get it."

"I don't understand what's going on, girl, but you can handle this! This is your chance to draw in your future husband!" Marinette shushed the brunette and guided her through the hatch, relieved that no one else seemed to have heard the embarrassing comment.
Marinette turned to look at the only one left in her room - Adrien. Why was he so interested in that box?
"I know exactly what that box means, Marinette," he informed her as soon as they were alone.
"What?!" She took a step backward, her eyes growing comically wide.
"I have a box just like it at home. Let that sink in." He watched as her eyes searched his face, then drifted down to the silver ring on his hand. Her gaze settled on the magical object. "I think you understand."
"Can I..." she contemplated the best way to acknowledge her partner. "Meet your kwami?"
