Chapter 55

Chapter 55. Clues.

 

 

~Joshua's POV

 

 

"SHELLE!" I woke up screaming. I wiped my forehead that was filled with cold sweat. I can't do this anymore. I have to find Shelle as soon as possible. I want to find her now.

 

 

"Joshua! What happened?!" Starelle and Drake barged into my room. They were still in their PJs. I must've woken them up... have I been screaming all this time without my own knowledge? That's most likely to happen since that was one of the scariest nightmares I have ever dreamt of.

 

 

I assured them with a smile, "I'm fine. I'm sorry if I wake you guys up. I just... had a nightmare, I guess." They looked at each other and walked towards me. Umupo sila sa higaan ko since maluwag naman ito. I've been living in their house since the winter vacation, I had no one to wait for me in my house anyway and besides I get to be closer to Shelle. I can take care of her more when I'm near her.

 

 

"What happened?" Tanong sa akin ni Ate Star. Her eyes were drooping. She was tired from work but I can't help but be amazed every time she comes back home still full of energy... but when she sleeps, you'd know she was tired as hell. You can see it in her expressions though she tries her best to cover it up with smiles and if I may say, it fools a lot of people… especially the unobservant ones.

 

 

"Nothing... it was nothing," I'm a good liar but the name I screamed out was something to not be taken lightly.

 

 

"Sinisigaw mo yung pangalan ni Shelle... ano ba ang napanaginipan mo?" Pilit ni Kuya Drake. I knew this was bound to happen.

 

 

"Ugh... I don't want to talk about it, Kuya Drake. It's not a pretty image to imagine." Humiga ako sa higaan at ipinikit yung mga mata ko.

 

 

"Okay... good night, Joshua. Have a good rest. We'll have to work all day tomorrow, too." Hinawakan niya yung buhok ko at ganun na din yung ginawa ni Ate Starelle at saka sila lumabas ng kwarto ko.

 

 

I heaved out a sigh. Hindi ko 'to kakayanin. One more of these hellish nightmares and I might break down. This might be my fault in the first place... scratch that, this is my fault in the first place.

 

 

Bakit ko pa kasi kailangang bumili ng pagkain? I felt too comfortable with the atmosphere that I didn't even see this coming. I'm such an asshole.

 

 

~Shelle's POV

 

 

Salamat at umalis na din si Jace. I can't stand his verbal torture. Tsk. He keeps on badmouthing my own brother; he doesn't know my brother so how can he even say those things? Ano 'yon? Based sa mga description ni Cara tungkol kay kuya? Tsk. Cara is crazy, she couldn't possibly see things the way they really are.
