The Real Story

So Jeremy and Michael, well as the rest of the BMC squad are actors for a show which in this case IS Be More Chill. The Squipcident spanned over two seasons. This is interviews with the irl Michael and Jeremy. Not the in show/what we know in the musical versions.

I know it's weird.

"So exactly how did you and Michael get together?" The reporter asked and Jeremy smiled shyly, readjusting his blue rimmed glasses awkwardly.

"W-Well...It started w-when we met..I..I fell in l-love with him...I'm actually g-gay, unlike show Jeremy... He's b-bi. B-But I a-asked him out at the e-eighth grade d-dance. A guy he like r-rejected him and he r-ran to the bathroom. I followed him. We sat in there hugging and crying until I finally said I l-loved him and he kissed me. And...well we're outta c-college so you can see how long it's been." Jeremy was extremely awkward about the entire thing, mainly since without a script he's really camera shy.

"Wait so you're saying Michael didn't pine over you for half your life?"

"N-No. In the show y-yes but I...I was the one who pines over him. It's a-actually strange that...umm...the show did that b-but there are reasons...I think. M-Maybe you could b-bring Michael in here and we could get his p-point of view." Jeremy twiddles his thumbs and within a few seconds was engulfed in a hug by Michael.

"I heard my name." He kissed Jeremy on the cheek and the reporter was sure to record that.

"Yes we were wondering why you think the show made you pine over Jeremy instead of Jeremy pine over you?"

"Oh well I like to think it's because Jerm Heere, pun intended, is supposed to be relatable to the fans. And having him pine over somebody that wasn't me seemed to like... convey a sense of confusion when he finally started liking me back. But of course I didn't write the show I just play the character most known because he cried in a bathroom..." Michael nervously laughed and Jeremy leaned on his shoulder gently.

"I-I mean they could've made M-Michael the main character and h-have me be the sidekick but...I'm honestly m-more awkward and fit the role of the loser with only one friend...and he wants to b-be popular but is too awkward for h-his own good...because I'm awkward..." Jeremy mumbled and there was a long silence...a LONG long silence.

"Well you said earlier you were always gay? But show Jeremy is bi...Why is that?"

"More options for drama is what I would say. Jeremy finding himself was probably the biggest reveal of the show. Other than me liking him and Brooke being a secret lesbian who was mad at Chloe and tryna make her jealous." Michael was making random hand movements as he spoke, and Jeremy couldn't help but find it adorable. Then again everything Michael did was adorable.

"Okay so that caused the season 1 and 2 shipping wars on Twitter and Tumblr. Right?"

"Y-Yeah. Stage Dorks vs Boyf Riends vs Puppy Love. Me b-being the main character...I'm easily shippable....is t-that a word?" Jeremy began sweating and Michael held his hand gently.

"Yes that's a word Jeremy. As for the shipping wars, Boyf Riends won because after a bunch of stuff I posted a picture of my and Jerm on a date for my followers and they just realized it was canon." Michael began looking around and Jeremy cuddled into him.

"Okay then...So you two were always a couple?"

"Yeah." Michael answered since Jeremy was too busy cuddling him.

"So...Do you think they finally made you two canon so TV could have a popular same sex couple?"

"T-That's what I think. I knew that I was g-gonna end up with M-Micha so...so knowing we could en-encourage people like us w-who are tryna f-find themselves."

"Yeah honestly knowing we're helping people is like one of the many reasons we're on this show. That and because it's pretty fun. Like reliving highschool but you know what Hell you're going to endure."

"Okay last question for today, there's a rumor about Jeremy breaking down and crying during one take of an episode from season one. The episode where he first got the Squip. Is this true?"

"Umm...Y-Yeah...but we don't...umm...usually bring it up..." Jeremy always cried when he remembered back to that one performance. Eric's acting had been so on point he made Jeremy cry. And it was all on video.

"Can you not bring that up right now. Jeremy is really uncomfortable with the topic of that...like...very very uncomfortable." Michael was starting to sound a little angry as he held Jeremy close and comforted him. "It's okay Jeremy. Don't cry it's okay..." He shot the cameraman and reporter a glare as to leave the room and they did.

When they were gone, Michael closed the door and went back to Jeremy.

"Hey it's okay Babe...I'm right here okay...calm down." Michael was gentle as he brought Jeremy close, beginning to run his fingers through the long brown hair that bordered the face of the freckle covered boy he loved. Jeremy continued gently whimpering but Michael continued to comfort him.

It evened out quite nicely. Sad nobody would ever see this kind of stuff...their actual relationship. The one in the show wasn't fake but it wasn't exactly them in the show.

This was then. This was the real Michael Mell and Jeremy Heere...this was real.
