Delano POV
Gia hasn't been home in like two days. She told me she was going over to Bria's house for the night. I don't want to impose myself cause she'll just distance herself more. Looking out my window at my office and seeing her walking along the shore.
For the first time I don't know what to do. She won't open up to me. I heard my office door open causing me to turn around.
"Mister boss man can I talk to you?" Bria said. I nodded and motioned her to sit down.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Listen I'm here speaking about your girl, Gia. Because she won't bother to talk to you about what's bothering her. And shit she needs to get out of my house".
"I'm all ears".
"The other day I saw that she was bothered about the situation with your ex constantly coming over your house. I've been friends with Gia for a very long time so I know how to read her very well. And she was hurt I guess. She didn't want to hear anything I had to say cause she knew I was right".
"She didn't seem bothered when we were talking about it. Actually she said it was my business".
Bria sighed "Listen let me give you a lesson on who Gia really is. She's been through some stuff that made her the way she is. That tough girl act is a mask. A very tight mask that doesn't come off unless she feels truly comfortable with you. Otherwise she's a highly sensitive girl".
"You know she had a panic attack the day she moved in with me?. I asked her about it but she blew me off".
"Really? She hasn't had a panic attack in years" Bria looked away.
"Can you tell me why she had the panic attack or how long she's been suffering from them? Cause she won't tell me".
Bria didn't say anything at first "she's been suffering from panic attacks for years. It doesn't happen often only when something triggers it. When we were 9, Gia and I were in a really bad car accident. Her cousin who was with us didn't make it. Ever since then she felt survivors guilt. Because her cousin didn't want to come with us but Gia talked her into it".
Sitting there amazed at what I'm hearing. Who would've known Gia went through something like that. The girl she shows to people isn't the girl Bria is talking about. "Why won't she open up to me?".
As shrugged "that I don't know. Maybe she still hasn't accepted the situation. Denial could be a bitch".
"Gia will be five months soon and she hasn't accepted the situation yet?. That doesn't sound right".
"That I couldn't tell you. You would have to ask her that yourself".
"Anything else I should know about her?" I asked.
"She's allergic to anything with peanuts. Hence why she was in the hospital in Mexico. I just wanted to clarify that story. She had an allergic reaction to what she ate".
"Didn't know she was allergic to peanuts. Thank you for telling me that".
"But all I can tell you just be patient with her. She can be a stubborn piece of shit but in the end when she comes around she's the sweetest caring person you'll ever meet".
Smiling at what she said "That's the Gia I knew". Looking out my window to see her putting her feet in the water.
"You really like her don't you?" Bria asked.
I nodded "it's more like love. Ever since I saw Gia it was love at first sight for me".
"Aww, how cute are you right now!" Bria teased. "She likes you too. I can tell but she's putting on a mask when she's around you".
"You think so?" I asked.
She nodded "she's being a hard ass because she's fighting the feelings for you".
"Why are you all of a sudden helping me?" I asked cause Bria was never the one to lend a hand.
"Listen Gia is my best friend. I love her with everything. And now she's about to have my god baby. I'm just trying to make her happy. When she's happy I'm happy. Plus, I feel like your a good fix for her whether she realizes it or not".
"Thanks Bria. Hopefully I can break that wall down quicker given the information you shared".
She smiled "no problem just make sure she'll always be happy cause if not I'm coming for you!" .
"You have nothing to worry about when it comes to me" I assured her. She smiled and walked out my office. Turning my attention back to Gia who was still putting her feet in the water. She must be hot hence why she's doing that. That's when I seen Bria coming down bumping her. They both smiled and walked along the shoreline. They never can be where I put them.
Now it's time to do my homework on Gia. Because if not she will find a way to distance herself even more.
