I knew this whole thing was not going to be easy

I knew this whole thing was not going to be easy. Knowing Gia very well I knew she wasn't going to let this be an easy ride. I had a plan coming up here. Taking the velvet box and opening it. My future was in this box. I had every plan to propose to Gia. But right now I don't know about that. She hasn't come out of that room all day.

Who knows she might say no anyway right?. Hearing footsteps I looked up to see her walking into the living room. Nothing was said. She took a seat on the opposite couch away from me.

"Feeling better?" I asked.

She shrugged.

"Can we talk?" I asked. She looked at me blinking twice "about what?".

"Us" I said.

"What about us?" She asked.

"It's obvious things won't be solved if either of us are not willingly to see our faults. So I want us to try something" handing her a piece of paper and a pen. "Write down five pros and cons of me and I'll do the same with you".

She took the piece of paper and pen and looked at me "and this will magically solve all our issues?".

"I have no idea but it's a start" I said starting to write down some things. About ten minutes later I saw gia was done. "So I guess you go first..." she picked up her paper "well let's start with the pros. You are Caring, Sweet, Funny sometimes, a good dad, and affectionate".

Surprised at what she wrote down. I couldn't help but smirk at what she just said. "Now for the cons. You are controlling, manipulative, possessive, crazy and uptight".

"Really?" I asked.

"Your turn.." she said.

"Your pros are you are a great mother, loving, funny, playful, and sensitive. But your cons are... impulsive, secretive, stubborn, selfish only with me and moody".

"I'm not selfish... but whatever. And what did this accomplish?" She asked.

"Listen I don't want to fight anymore. The whole purpose of me bringing you here is so we can make up. And since that didn't happen I'm willing to compromise".

"Compromise?".

"Yes, compromise... I want us to work out. I can't see myself with anyone else but you. That's why I fought so hard to have you" I said.

"How did you fight? You trapped me. In the end it was a shoe in for you" she said.

"Gia, focus. I will lean up with my controlling ways with you. Meaning I won't bother you too much on giving me a time frame when you go out. And... if you want to go out with Ryan or even with Bria at least tell me where you are going. That's all I ask".

She nodded "deal. And I will try and be nicer to you. If I feel myself getting annoyed I'll just walk away and calm down instead of taking it out on you".

"Good, see how this is working out for us. And I'm sorry the therapist called you a narcissist" I said.

"Well thank you. I was hoping you didn't believe whatever that lady was saying. If anything, you know me better than her" she said. And she was right.

"You're right! I just want us to move past this and be the family we once were. Ryan wants his parents back together. It's all he knows".

"If you can keep word on your compromises then I don't see anything wrong with this". Staring at Gia for a bit before rubbing my finger on the velvet box in my pocket. She is no doubt the women I want to spend the rest of my life with. It was love at first sight for me.

For the first time in a long time we actually agreed on something. "Let's agree that we will start fresh and communicate more. And even if one of us is upset either of us will still try and communicate.. deal?".

Gia smiled "deal". We both stood up and I embraced her. It's been a minute since we hugged like this. Not letting her go until she cleared her throat. "Sorry, habit". I'll save the proposal for some other time. It would suck if I asked her and she flat out said no.

"Now can we go back to civilization?" She asked. I nodded "yeah but since we are in a somewhat better place. Move back in with me".

She sighed "fine, cause if I don't you'll just find a way".

"Smart girl, you know me like the back of your hand" I joked. She playfully rolled her eyes "let me start getting my things together". Watching her disappear upstairs I just thought to myself how simple it was to fix our problem. Now hopefully we can stick to this and make it work.

On the other hand I will make sure Noah knows gia is no longer available. Just Incase he tries to slither his way between us. I'm not a man that likes to share things with other people.

SHORT UPDATE! Whew, the next chapter is going to be juicy.
