I was thinking how hard it is for me to write any sexual scenes for this particular book. But I have no problem writing it for crumble. Strange!
**TRIGGER WARNING**
DELANO POV
We finally arrived in Barbados. Ryan was so happy when we got here. Since he's never been anywhere outside the country before. Gia was still upset so she didn't want to come with us to lunch.
"Daddy?" Ryan called.
"What's up buddy?" I answered in the midst of pouring his drink in the cup. "Umm... why was mommy crying when we got on the plane?" He asked. Didn't realize Ryan was paying that much attention to what we were going through. "She was scared of the plane" I lied. He stared me down for a minute before shrugging his shoulders. "Oh okay".
Looking at our son who was tearing up his fries. The young boy who now notices the small things. "Is mommy going to be okay?". I nodded "she'll be fine".
"Maybe we should bring something back for her" Ryan suggested.
"You're right. Let's surprise her with food" Ryan smiled big "Okay". Hate lying to our son but he wouldn't understand if I told him the complete truth. It's better he doesn't know anything. When we were finished we made our way back to the resort. Gia was up watching tv. Ryan ran inside "mommy look what me and daddy got for you!". He jumped on the bed with the bag "look!". Gia looked inside the bag and smiled "you got this for me?" She asked Ryan. He nodded "because you was sad". Gia gave him a small smile "and thanks to you I'm beyond happy". Ryan hugged Gia and ran off to play with his tablet.
Joining her the bed "he's starting to notice". She didn't respond. "We have to try and fix this. Or it'll tear him apart".
"If you would've just listened to me. We wouldn't be in this situation" she said. Not agreeing with her "are you okay?".
"I'm better. Nevermind I'm convinced this baby will be here any day now" she said.
"Why? Are you feeling contractions?" I asked a little alarmed. Not wanting to bring this baby in the drama we are currently facing. She nodded "all day I've been having contractions. It's only a matter of time before my water breaks".
"Just take it easy for the next two days. I don't want you getting overly excited or even overly stressed..." my phone ringing interrupted what I was saying. Gia eyed my phone and laughed. But it was one of those laughs that wasn't good. Looking down I see it's Ava calling. She watched me to see if I would answer it.
"You know you want to answer it. Go ahead" she said getting up and joining Ryan watching his tablet. I sighed because this just made shit much worse for no reason. And why was she calling me anyway?.
Ignoring her call. I turned off my phone. I didn't want anymore distractions while I'm trying to save my relationship. Gia walked to the bathroom moaning a little bit. Peeking inside I see her holding onto the sink and breathing. Walking in behind her and putting my hand on her stomach "are you sure you're okay?".
"I'm fine, don't you have a phone call to answer" she sneered.
"Can you not do this right now. I never answered it and I honestly don't know why she's calling me" I said.
"Whatever..." she walked past me. "Looks like we will be having our son here in Barbados. At least he'll have a dual citizenship". After she said that sentence she looked down to see liquid running down her leg. "Holy shit! We need to go to the hospital now".
Usually I would've waited because babies take time to come out. But this is our second one and they usually come fast for whatever reason. "Ryan come on your brother is trying to show himself today. So grab your tablet and let's go". Ryan smiled "kairo is coming?! Yay!".
At the small hospital on the island they already had Gia in the room. This baby is going to be here quickly. The doctor had her push a few times. And before you knew it our son was here. "Why isn't he crying?" She yelled. The nurse turned to her with a worried look. Looking over to where they took him. The doctor patted the babies back a few times which made him cry.
The nurse rushed him out the room. Gia grabbed onto my arm "where are they taking him! What's wrong?!".
"I don't know. No one is saying anything" I said. Another lady came into the room "I'm sorry your sons lungs seem to be a little undeveloped. Which is causing him breathing trouble. We are going to monitor him over night and out him on a breathing machine". Gia looked at me and cried. "Thanks" I said holding her.
About an hour later they allowed us to see him. Gia and I walked in slowly and saw this tiny little thing hooked up to a breathing machine. Gia couldn't hold up. She cried. "Look at him. Defenseless". Seeing our son in that incubator tore me up.
Could all the stress we were going through have affected our sons development?. Crazy as that sounds. With everything in front of me... I felt like it was our fault this happened. Gia was slowly losing it. I watched her carefully touch him with the gloves. She couldn't stop crying. And to make matters worse we are in another country where technology isn't as up to date as it would be where we live.
I hope he pulls through. If he's anything like us he'll fight. So with much debate... I wasn't going to keep them together but today my brain decided to go left. So I'll keep them together.
