DELANO POV
Today I wanted to spend time with Ryan alone. Actually I managed to get him for the full weekend. Ryan was ecstatic when he realized that he was going back to his old home.
Once we got to the house he ran upstairs to his room. It was nice to have someone here. I wasn't alone like always. "Ryan I'm going to go in the garage okay?" He came running "I'm coming too". We both walked into the garage. Ryan sat on a chair while I cleaned up some stuff.
"Daddy? When are you and mommy going to live together again?" He asked.
"Very soon. Don't you worry" I said trying to reassure him.
"Good cause mommy's new friend is always around now" he said. Didn't I tell gia to not let any other man around Ryan... she doesn't listen.
"Has mommy's new friend ever been at the apartment?" I was curious to know.
"No but every time we go outside he's always there. I mean he's nice but always there" he said. "Why can't you make mommy move back here?".
"You can't force someone to do something. They have to want to do it on their own" he looked at me confused. "That's not true. Remember that time you forced mommy to change her clothes cause her shorts was too short".
"Ryan, that's different" I said.
"How? You still made her do it. It's the same to me. Just make her move back here" he said. Trying to move on from the topic at hand. A car pulled up and stopped right in front of the garage. "Daddy who is that?".
"That's Ava" I said. She came walking up to us "Hello Delano.. and who's this?".
"This is my son Ryan" I said. She smiled and extended her hand "I should've known you two resemble each other a lot". Ryan mean mugged her and got up "I like mommy better than her". He ran inside leaving Ava to pull her hand back.
"What brings you here?" I asked.
"I was driving around and since you live over here I decided to pay you a visit. Cleaning are we?" She looked around to see the mess. "Yup, it's getting to cluttered in here". She walked past me and started going through boxes "I'm guessing these are Ryan's white baby shoes".
I nodded "yeah funny thing was when we baptized him he threw up on the priest causing a huge commotion". Remembering that story I wish gia was here. The story would've been better and more funnier if she was here.
"Funny, so how long is Ryan staying?" She asked.
"Just for the weekend. Why?" She smiled "well I was thinking we can go out and have dinner. Just the two of us. No one else".
"Ava, maybe you didn't understand before but I'm not interested. I'm currently working on getting my family back. I'm sorry if you thought I was leading you on by any chance".
She stood there trying to figure out what to say. I don't care what anyone else has to say but gia and I belong together. I feel that and know it. Who else would understand why she's so stubborn or impulsive... I'm not ready to let her go.
"Don't you think gia moved on by now. It's been a while since you two broken up" Ava said.
"We aren't broken up. We decided to give each other a break. And why is this any of your business?. You don't know gia personally".
"I already expressed my opinion about her. She secured the bag and now she's good". Ryan came running "she's still here?! Mommy is on the phone". Ava walked to her car and sped off. Walking inside Ryan followed behind me "I don't like her". Ignoring him I picked up the phone "yeah?".
"Delano I need you to keep Ryan for an extra day" she said.
"Okay, why?" I asked.
"I have a test on Monday and I have other stuff to do". Right? Other stuff... "I'll bring him over there around three on Monday".
"Umm no more like seven" she said.
"Why So late?" I asked.
"Seven is not late. It's still light outside and because I'll be somewhere at that time".
"It better not be a date" I warned. Hearing her sigh I knew I was right "it's a date isn't it?".
"It's not a date. It's a causal dinner between to people that's it".
I laughed "I can bet you anything you won't be going on that date..."
"Delano, seriously stop you're not funny". I was being so serious though. "I'm a comedian today but you're not going to that causal dinner. So might as well call whomever and cancel it. You'll be too busy for that to happen".
"Goodbye, Delano cause your doing too much" she said. "Gia, one last time you are not going on that date". That's when the phone clicked meaning she hung up on me. Going on a date... for what?. Not on my watch she's not. I can tomorrow that on everything. Maybe Ryan will get his wish cause gia isn't thinking at all now. A date? Yeah okay!.
