My mom has been calling me nonstop and wanting me to visit her. Now I was hesitant due to the last time we had our last encounter. But time has flown by so I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt. Gia was going to be damned if she accompanied me. So she's home with both kids. I trust her not to do anything too crazy while I'm gone.
When I finally got to Arizona she met me at the airport "my son! Come here!" She came to hug me. I put my arm out "I'm not that comfortable with you since the last time". She stopped "oh... well I'm happy you came to see me!".
On the way to the house she wouldn't stop talking. I texted Gia letting her know I landed. And I asked her how was the kids. She sent me back a video of Ryan and kairo. That brought a smile to my face. "How are the children?" She asked.
"They're fine" I said.
"And when will I see them?" She asked.
"Umm.. let's take this little by little. When Gia and I both feel you're not a threat to them then maybe you will meet them. For now, no" I said. She didn't respond she just kept on driving.
"Well I made a couple of new friends. I would love for you to meet them" she said.
"And why would I want to meet your friends?" I asked.
"Because you are all I speak about. They want to meet the infamous man behind the name" she said. That was a little odd. But whatever. "What'd you tell them?".
"Oh how you a self made man who built his own wealth" she said.
"Interesting... I remember you claimed I used your name to get where I am today". She glanced at me "I said some mean things to you and I'm sorry".
"Uh Huh... I bet you are" I said. We reached the house and we walked inside. "Well tonight we will have a celebration party for you finally coming back to see your family".
"My family is in Nevada. But I get what you're saying" I said. She nodded and walked off leaving me there. I could care less if she was uncomfortable but she did this to herself.

Later on that night there was a couple of people here that I haven't seen in years. It was good to catch up with some of them. Making my way around the room I see my mother talking to someone. "Oh Delano I want you meet someone". Sighing I walked next to her "don't you think I met enough people". She fanned me "nonsense this is Ava". Blinking a few times because I wasn't sure if I was seeing things or hearing things. But sure enough the same woman who was at my front door the other day was standing right infront of me. "This is your son?!. We met before" she smiled. My mother looked at both of us "oh really well small world. Delano Ava here is a career woman. She has her own company and is an investor too".
"I know that already. The question is why is she here? Where did you two meet?" I asked.
"Well your mother was at a property and I happened to be there and boom we started conversing" she said.
"Yes, Ava is like a breath of fresh air for me. It's nice to have someone here who I can talk real estate with" my mother said.
"I see you two became best friends quickly. Well don't let me stop you" quickly walking away and disappearing in the crowd of people. Didn't realize my mom was following me. "Delano? I want to speak with you for a moment". Sighing cause all of this was too much. "What?" I asked.
"You do know Ava is a good catch. She's young, very pretty and smart. I'm just saying you two would do good together" rolling my eyes "that's what you wanted to talk about? Why?. It's a waste of time and breath. I love Gia and that's it. Anything else?". She frowned "Nope nothing else". I walked away just wanting to get the hell out of here.
Finally finding a place in the back to sit and just have a piece of mind. I wanted to call Gia but at the same time I didn't want her to know about everything going on here and she start assuming. I know keeping this doesn't help but I'm not in the mood for the arguing.
"Delano?" Ava said.
"What now?" I asked.
"I just came out here to talk that's it" she said taking a seat next to me. "Talk" I said.
"You know gia is a very lucky woman. To have someone like you. You must really love her" she said.
"I do. And I'm not willing to jeopardize my relationship for anyone. It took me a while to actually get Gia and I'm not about to lose her again for the third time".
"Listen I wasn't going to tell you. But I see what I'm doing isn't working" she said. Turning to her "tell me what?".
She sighed before speaking "I met your mother at a real estate meeting. She approached me and we started talking. I didn't think anything of it. But one day she came up with an idea and she would pay me if everything went the way she wanted. She made me call you about that property so we could meet. Once I saw you I mean you are handsome so it wasn't a problem to try and be attracted to you. And once I saw Gia I felt bad for her. But money talks. So I tried everything to bad mouth Gia and it seemed to work when you guys split. Then I had my brother try and come onto her so you would see she's moving on and I could make my move. But things backfired. And the plan folded. Hence why I'm here. She wanted me to try at this party. But I can't do it. You're a good guy Delano. Many woman would kill for a man like you. I don't know the reason why your mother doesn't like Gia but that's all on her".
Sitting there just in awe. She's still at it. I can't believe it. "Thanks Ava". She nodded and got up and left. It just got hot in here out of nowhere. I guess some people will never change.
