GIA POV
I still can't believe Delano and this ridiculous plan he has trying to get me back. I'm not playing by his rules what so ever. He'll see me in court if he thinks I'll just role over and go back to him that easily.
The one thing I didn't want to do though I might have to do. But I won't involve Ryan in it though. I should've known when our friend Dante was there that Delano's sour puss mood would come out. And it sure did.
"Bria! Can you watch Ryan for twenty minutes I have to do something real quick" I yelled.
"Yeah I guess where are you going?" She asked.
"Somewhere I don't want to. But I have no other choice" I said.
"Oh no please tell me it's not to your parents house.." she eyed me.
I nodded "yup I have to ask my dad for some money otherwise I wouldn't go".
Bria shook her head "I don't like this idea but I guess you have no other choice. Just please don't let that woman you call a mom get to you". I nodded "oh she won't I'm in no mood for her shit today".
On the way there I just kept thinking about Delano on how he's such an idiot for doing this. He couldn't just let me have my space until I felt like going back. Rolling my eyes at the thought of him rushing things.
I pulled up to my parents home hoping my mom isn't home but knowing my luck she will be. Opening the door and walking in. It was very quiet. I walked to my dads den and saw him reading some papers at his desk.
"Hey dad" I said softly. He took off this glasses and stood up "Gia? What are you doing here?".
"Just came to see you" I lied. I didn't want to ask for the money so upfront.
"Oh how are you?" He asked.
"Could be better" I took a seat in front of him.
"How's the baby?".
"He's good" I smiled.
"That's good. How's Delano?".
"Who?" I said.
"Delano... you know the—" I cut him off "I know dad but right now we aren't really seeing eye to eye".
"Oh? I'm sorry to hear that" he said.
"But now he wants to take me to court for full custody cause I refuse to go back to him. So I wanted to know if you could do me a huge favor and help me out to get an attorney?".
He nodded "of course I'll help. Anything you need you can ask". I smiled My dad never let me down with help unlike the woman who lives here.
And just like that she walks in saying something to my dad "oh gia you're here? What Delano noticed how troublesome you are and dumped you?".
Rolling my eyes I ignored her. She wasn't getting the best of me today. "Anyway thanks dad!" He smiled "no problem".
"Thanks for what?" My mom asked.
"That's none of your business. If you wasn't here for the conversation then you missed it" I said.
"Oh gia has a backbone all of a sudden" she said.
"Yup today is not the damn day. So please refrain yourself from bothering me". Fanning her away from me.
"You know what... you're just like your father" she sneered. I smiled "that's a compliment. I don't mind being like dad".
She laughed a little "no your real dad. He's not your father". I must of had a delayed reaction cause it didn't hit me right away."Yeah okay. You're just trying to get under my skin".
"Ask your father... he'll tell you he's not your real dad" she looked at my dad. He seemed very uncomfortable. "Umm... honey why don't you leave us alone".
She shook her head "no! Not until you tell her your not her real father and I'm not lying!".
Looking at my dad he just looked down. "Gia I'm sorry you had to find out this way. But it's true". I almost fainted. My legs got weak... I had no feelings I my legs. I was feeling lightheaded as well.
I was speechless.
My mom stood there with a accomplished smile on her face. I couldn't believe anything that was being said. But my mom continued to dig in.
"Your father was an asshole. I made a mistake and cheated on your dad here. But he forgave me and we moved past it. He raised you as his own even though your not his. Rashad is his all of his".
I felt the tears coming up. For twenty four years I've been lied to.
"You look just like him too, ugly! After you I couldn't stand the sight of him".
"Forget everything" I said.
The tear escaped my eye and fell down my cheek. As I thought she couldn't hurt me anymore... she just finds a way to. Now I know why she praised Rashad more than me. And why she did what did. She hated herself for what she did in her past and I reminded her of it.
I might as well just give in to Delano. Nothing in my life seems to work out anyway.
Getting up I stormed out that house. I couldn't let them see me break down. With everything going on I can only take so much and this was the icing on the cake. Sitting in the car I just broke down.
