GIA POV

I've been struggling with some things. My mind has been getting the best of me. Sitting here watching Delano cook. Bria had a point though. Even though I've been through so much he still remains here. He didn't run off and leave me dry.

"Umm... I think I want a Baby shower" I said. He stopped everything he was doing "really?! You sure?".

I nodded "yeah... even though it won't be much people there but why not do it anyway".

He smiled big "I'm happy you decided to do it. I'll get on that when I'm done here". Hopefully I made the right choice into doing this. But I made Delano smile so I guess I did.

A knock at the door woke me out of my thoughts. I looked at Delano who looked at me. We both weren't expecting anyone.

"Weird, Who is it?" Delano yelled.

"Gia it's daddy... open up!" He yelled. Confused cause I thought Delano told him to not come here the see me. Delano motioned me to remain seated. Looking at he door to see Delano opening it. "Can I help you?".

"I'm here to speak to Gia" he said. Delano raised his brow at my dad "about what? And didn't I tell you to not come here looking for her?!".

"I understand but I just wanted to apologize. I at least owe her that much". Delano looked at me for confirmation to let him in. I nodded "let him in". Delano sighed "you have five minutes".

My dad walked over to me and looked nervous. Why the hell is he so damn nervous?. "What's up?".

"I'm sorry for not protecting you. As a father I should've been there to shield you from any harm and I wasn't. Being selfish I was too focused in my own business. It didn't occur to me that mom was doing such cruel things to you".

I was numb completely. So I felt his apology wasn't sincere. I felt like it was forced. Let me find out my mom forced him here to fake apologize.

"What made you come here?" I asked.

"I spoke with your mother and she told me all what went on and it was cruel" he said.

Like I thought this was a set up apology. Looking at my dad with a blank stare so he knew I wasn't buying it.

"Did mom put you up to this?. Cause god knows she wouldn't be caught saying sorry for anything!".

Delano came into the living room and stood there to make sure my dad wasn't causing me too much stress. "You okay?".

I nodded "I'm fine. But can you escort him out. And please don't come here ever again. If that old bitch sends you here again there will be a problem. Mark my words" I said.

My dad didn't say anything he held his head down and walked out. Felt good to stand up for myself. You know the craziest thing I was always a daddy's girl but he was never there for me.

Delano stood in front of me and held my shoulders "that was good what you did. You spotted the fake ness and got rid of it. I'm proud of you". I nodded "well thank you". He smiled "well let's eat!".

Bria came over to discuss baby shower planning with me. Mia was here as well. But we gave her some ground rules before she was allowed in Delano's home.

"So since it's a boy... obviously we do a blue theme" Mia said.

"Blue is so boring... can we do animal print?" Bria asked.

"Umm no animal print is more for a girl" I said.

"Well blue it is. And it's going to be here right?" Mia asked.

I nodded "yeah that way we don't get any uninvited guest".

"Just going to ask this because he will want to know... is lee invited?" Mia asked.

Bria almost broke her neck "are you dumb? Hell no he's not invited! What is wrong with you?!".

Mia shrugged "I was just asking for a friend, damn".

Bria rolled her eyes "lord help me with girl today. She's testing my patience!. Anyway so it's really a small crowd then. Just like five of us. Don't worry doesn't matter how many people you have your shower will be bumping".

"Unless Mia here causes a commotion and gets the cops involved then we can make that ten people" I joked.

"I told y'all... I calmed down since the last time" she said.

"You know better this time around" Bria warned. "So I say the shower is planned for Saturday around 3. And Gia will look so pretty".

"Leave it up to you I know I will be" I teased.

"So I just hope nobody tries to come and crash this shower cause I won't hesitate to start swinging. I've had about enough with these idiots" Bria said.

"Who we fighting?" Mia asked. Shaking my head this poor girl is always lost.

"I'm so excited for my godson to arrive. Have you guys picked out a name yet?" Bria asked.

"Actually funny you ask that. Just today the name Ryan popped up in my head. It's very common but it's a cute name. I like it".

"Aww baby Ryan. I like it too" she said.

"I knew this guy Ryan once. We hooked up and let me tell you..." Bria threw a pillow at Mia shutting her up.

"Don't even try and ruin the moment with one of your hook up stories!" Mia mean mugged Bria. "Who would've thought from the first time of us getting hired at that job that you would be here... well I kinda knew he liked you when we went for that interview".

"Bria..." I warned.

"Oooo... I want to hear what happened?" Mia asked. I just eyed Bria to not bring up that story.

"Can't say. But all the signs were there" Bria smiled. Squinting my eyes at Bria. "Change the topic of conversation". Mia smiled at Bria "anyway what flavor cake do you want?". Someone save me from these two.
