Delano POV
After basically confessing my feelings to Gia I wanted her to feel what I felt for her. Getting a bouquet of flowers and leaving them on the table. So when she walks in she will see them.
Gia will be a little more work to wine and dine. Only if she wasn't so damn stubborn. Hearing the door open I see her coming in "hey".
"Hey" she walked passed the flowers without even acknowledging it. "Gia come here". She stopped and turned around and walked to me but still gave me space. You can tell she wasn't as comfortable yet.
"What?".
"You didn't see the flowers on the table?" I asked.
"I saw them" she said so nonchalantly.
"I got them for you" smiling at her. She looked at the flowers and then at me again.
"Why did you get me flowers?" She asked.
"Because I wanted you to know my feelings for you are real". She raised her brow and walked away. Hmm... figured that would be her response. This tough girl mask she wears is on tight. I'll get her though.
Next day at work I see Bria and Gia both laughing as they were walking along the shore line. Of course they were not in there particular stations I put them in. What else is new?.
Smiling when I see the delivery guy walking towards them with a bouquet of flowers. I stay hidden so she doesn't look this way. But I had a view... the man approached them and handed Gia the flowers. Bria jumped up and down smiling. Gia looked confused. Why does she look confused?.
This is going to be much harder than I thought. Never dealt with a person such as Gia. I have to think of another tactic and soon.
At home, I made a nice dinner for the both of us. Something she'll eat. Well Gia loves food but I know certain foods make her sick. Setting up the table and placing the plates with the napkins.
Gia walked from the bathroom and smiled "what smells so good?".
"It's dinner. Take a seat" smiling I went back to the kitchen to get the pasta.
"Didn't know you cook?" She said.
"Many of my talents you don't know about" I joked.
Once I placed the full plate in front of her she went right in. Actually I didn't even see Gia until she was done eating. "Someone was hungry?".
She nodded "and it was so good".
"I'm happy you enjoyed your food" staring at her and taking in her beauty.
"I really did it was so good. And now I'm sleepy" she yawned.
"Wait I have something for you" getting up I went to the cabinet to retrieve what I got her today.
"Oh boy! Flowers again?" She whined.
"No I saw you weren't too happy with flowers. So no more flowers. But I got you this" handing her the velvet box. She looked hesitant to open it at first but then she slowly opened the box.
"It's a charm bracelet..." she held up the bracelet and examined the charms on it.
"Yeah it's for new moms. Figured you would like it". She smiled and put on the bracelet wiggled her arm.
"Thank you! You know you don't have to keep getting me things. It's a little weird" she admitted.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Delano, we are not together in that way that you have to keep spoiling me with gifts". She was right but I wanted to.
A knock at the door interrupted us. She looked at me until I got up to answer it. "What are you doing here?" My ex girlfriend stood in front of me.
"Delano I miss us! I'm sorry I flipped out when I heard what you did. I should've been more understanding" she said.
Looking behind me I see Gia on her phone texting. Turning my attention back to my ex. "Listen we ended things so what's done is done".
"No Delano come on. We've been together for 4 years. How can you let us go so easily?" She asked.
Gia got up and excused herself. "Wait Who is She? Is that the girl you got pregnant?".
I nodded "that's her. I'm trying to make things work between her and I".
"But how? You guys aren't even together!. The only thing you two have in common is that baby".
"That's none of your business. But in the end she's pregnant with my child. So I'm trying to make things work".
"I love you, Delano. Don't do this. We can be together and you two can co-parent".
"You're giving me a headache. Please leave now" pointing to the door.
"You'll come back. Trust me on that" she stormed out and slammed the door. Shaking my head I walked back to see where Gia was. She was sitting on the bed just playing with her bracelet.
"Sorry about that" I apologized. She shrugged her shoulders "you don't have to explain yourself to me".
"But I do. My ex doesn't want to let go but she dumped me when she found out about you".
"Delano again we are not together. So you don't have to explain yourself to me. Maybe you should get back with her. I mean how long were you guys together.. years and years right?".
"Gia listen to me. The only person I want is you. I don't want anyone else. So stop pushing me away. Cause I know that night when we hooked up you weren't saying any of this" I had enough for tonight. Getting up and leaving the room. Which probably had no affect on Gia at all.
My head was pounding. Dealing with Gia is a lot of work and then my ex... I needed to be by myself for a while.
