Ch.12 Not Brooke

Mira could barely breath after hearing the sound of Snow White's voice after so long, she had actually done it, she had found a way to communicate to Ever After.

"Who is this?" Snow White asked.

"Oh um-" Mira replied "Before I tell you, try not to freak out."

"Why?"

"Well um, it's me, Mira."

There was silence, and then Snow finally responded.

"You're joking right?" she demanded.

"No I'm not" Mira assured "It's really me, Mira Queen."

"That's impossible, why do you sound so young?"

"To make a long story short, I'm a younger duplicate of the real me who's still in Mirror Prison. But you don't have to worry about me being evil and all, I'm not anymore, those days are behind me."

There was silence again.

"Um, hello?" Mira called.

"Sorry um-" Snow finally replied sounding confused "I still don't know whether I should believe this or not."

"Okay you know what, let's just move this to the side and get to the good news. Your daughter's alive."

"What?!" Snow gasped "She is?! Where is she?!"

"She's here, well not with me at the moment but she's here in this town."

"What town?"

"A town called Storybrooke, it's where everyone at Ever After High went to during the curse."

"You mean the curse you cast?" she heard Snow scowl.

"Yes" Mira sighed with disappointment "And I'm sorry about that, but once again, my evil days are behind me."

"How do I know you're telling the truth?" Snow demanded.

Mira was already beginning to get annoyed "Okay do you wanna keep talking about this or do you wanna talk to Apple?"

"Yes please!" she begged.

"Okay let me get her for you, hold on."

She set the phone to the side and pulled out her cell and began to call Olivia.

Meanwhile, still walking down the sidewalk, Elena and Olivia continued to discuss about the new people as they crossed the street to the other side.

"Are you sure you're not just being paranoid?" Olivia questioned.

"Since when have I been paranoid?" Elena doubted.

"I'm just saying, if you really believe something's going on with those new people, then we're gonna need some better evidence to prove it then just you witnessing their secrets talks and all."

"You're right" Elena sighed "But I still believe we should be careful around them, once again, we don't know everything about them and what they're capable of."

All of a sudden Olivia's phone began to ring and she pulled it out and answered the call from Mira.

"Hey Mira" she answered "Why what's going on?... It worked?!... Oh my God?!... Yeah we're on our way!"

"What is it?" Elena asked after Olivia hung up.

"Mira got the phone to work" she explained with excitement "She was able to contact my mother, and now I get to talk to her!"

"What really?!" Elena exclaimed as her face lit up.

"Yeah really!"

"Well come on!"

Now sitting on the steps in front of his house, Terrence held up his phone in front of him as he searched up creatures with yellow eyes, hoping to find something that could lead him to whatever that Brooke really was.

"What are you doing out here?" he looked up to see Darling walking towards him.

"Just searching up creatures with yellow eyes" he replied "Hoping to find something that could answer my question about Brooke."

"And how's that going?" she asked while sitting next to him.

"Not well" he sighed disappointed "Nothing here sounds familiar to me. If only I can see those eyes on her again, maybe there's something that I'm missing."

"So you're convinced that your mind isn't playing tricks on you."

"Well I'm not entirely sure, but I need an answer to what I saw, but I haven't seen Brooke around."

"Well if you want answers there it is" she suddenly pointed ahead as he looked up to see Brooke walking down the sidewalk.

And just like what Danny and Delilah had told, she was looking around as if she's never seen the place before. After taking glances at each other, the siblings got up and began to follow Brooke, being careful not to be spotted by her. They followed her down the sidewalk while hiding behind cars and bins whenever she would turn around. As they continued to follow her, she turned around the corner while they quickly hid behind a car as they both got glances at her eyes in the reflection of a store window as they saw a flash of yellow in them.

"See what I mean?" Terrence whispered.

"Oh my God" Darling breathed surprised "You weren't kidding."

They got back up and followed Brooke into an alley where she suddenly stopped as they hid behind a building. Carefully peeking from behind the wall, they watched as Brooke went over to a garbage bin and gave a sniff as if her nose had caught a scent. They watched as she stepped onto a pile of full garbage bags as she looked down into the bin. She reached her hand in while moving the trash out of the way as she soon pulled out a rat she had clutched in her hand.

"What the hell is she doing?" Darling whispered with confusion.

They continued to watch as Brooke stepped off the bags and held the rat up to her face while examining it. And soon her eyes became full yellow as she opened her mouth to let out a small hiss as she began to devour the rat. Terrence and Darling had to cover their mouths to hide their gasps to the shock of what they were witnessing. They were too frozen to move as Brooke had finished eating the rat and letting the bones drop to the ground. After wiping the blood off her mouth, she turned and walked down the alley, not bothering to turn around as Terrence and Darling stepped back from the alley.

"Oh my God" Darling's eyes widen, still in shock.

"I knew something was wrong" Terrence declared, still in shock.

"Okay that is definitely not Brooke" she announced "I think I know what that really is."

"What?"

"A changeling."
