Ch.75 Good cause

Now that their old friends were here to help, everything was easier to take down in the apocalypse with the extra help they needed. With Jane steering her flying ship around and firing her cannonballs to Hope using her cursed dark magic against any monsters she came across, everything just appeared easier.

But while fighting near the diner, Rachel was suddenly approached by a Chimera who blew fire at her as she used her wings to shield herself. But when she removed her wings, she stood there in shock as the Chimera tried to jump on her, only to be hit by a car that was thrown at it with great strength as she turned to see her friend Hercules huffing.

"Thanks Herc!" she called.

"Anytime!" he smiled.

"Look out!" Meg suddenly screamed as Hercules turned around to see a goblin that tried to jump on him.

"Move!" Rachel ordered as they ran out of the way just as she fired her arrow straight into the goblin as he fell down dead.

"I see you've gotten better with your aim," Hercules remarked.

"I've been practicing" she smiled proudly.

Down the street, Natalie used her magic and new wings against attacks, but she was too distracted to notice a shadow hovering towards her.

"Natalie look out!" Gregg screamed as she turned around, only for a second to see a winged monster flying down at her.

She didn't have time to blast it with her magic when it used its strong arms to scoop her into the sky by her arms.

"No!" Gregg cried out as he watched Natalie struggled against the beast "What is that thing?!"

"I think that's the Chernabog" Francis Howell, also known as Cedar Wood, daughter of Pinocchio explained, "A beast that feeds off of evil."

"What?!"

They looked up to see Natalie putting up a fight against the Chernabog while trying to kick herself out of its grip.

"We need to get her down here" he declared.

"Wait hold on" Francis held up a finger "Look."

They watched as the fairy managed to use the edges of her wings to slive it across the monster's arm as it let go of one of her arms, and at that moment, she swung up and kicked the Chernabog in its jaw which allowed it to release its grip as she zoomed away from it.

"You guys go on without me," she told Gregg and Francis "I'm gonna try to get rid of this son of a bitch."

And with that, she flew off with the Chernabog after her.

Near the burned down school, Kayla, Ramona, and now with Ramona's friend Channing strolled down the empty street while keeping their guards up.

"You girls getting anything?" he asked.

"Nope" they replied while sniffing around.

"Wait" Ramona suddenly stopped "I smell... two guys and a girl heading our way."

"Impressive" they turned around to see two guys and girl who were part of Lydia's crew.

"Like father like daughter" the girl smirked, "I suppose you have his fleas too?"

Ramona let out a deep threatening growl while exposing her sharp wolf teeth.

"I wouldn't try to attack Ms. Wolf" one of the guys taunted "We all know you're scared to kill, remember when you were framed for killing your friend's girlfriend? Do you remember the pain you went through? How nobody believed you? And how you were willing to let your friend kill you?"

Ramona felt her blood boil by the memoried as her growl got louder.

"Now do you really wanna kill us?" the other guy added "Or are you too afraid?

She growled for a moment, and then she suddenly stopped as a small smiled curled up her lips.

"I might not want to kill you" she spoke, "But they will."

At that point, they began to hear growls coming from around them as they turned to see a pack of wolves that had surrounded them as they each gave threatening growls.

"Wolves work in packs" Ramona stated, "And by the way, there are times when I'm not afraid to kill if the person really deserves it. Now even though I don't know you guys personally, I do know how evil your boss is, and that makes you just like her. I'm willing to rip Lydia's throat out, just like how these wolves are willing to do you three."

The three stood there frozen with trying not to show their fear of the growling wolves that surrounded them.

"So what will it be?" Ramona sneered, "Will you guys face us and these wolves? Or are you too scared!"

"We're not scared" the girl replied, appearing confident "Because just like Lydia, we're all more powerful than you guys, so even if these wolves did attack us, they wouldn't stand a chance."

"Oh," Kayla suddenly spoke in a sarcastic tone "So you're saying you guys can stand up against dozens of sharp teeth and claws that are ripping your meat off? Because if you are then, shall we find out?"

"Well we're not saying-".

"Going once" Ramona spoke as she took a step towards them with her claws out.

"Wait hold on" one of the guys held up his hand.

"Going twice" she growled with her teeth out and her eyes now a bright blue.

"Screw it just run!" the other guy yelled as they turned around and ran, only to get chased by the wolves who were able to take down the girl while the guys ran off as fast as they could. 

"Oh God" Kayla gulped as they turned around to avoid seeing the wolves attack the girl as they listened to the sound of her screams of both pain and terror.

"Well there's go one of them" Channing breathed "And I think I might vomit just by listening."

They waited until the sound of the screams died down as they turned around to see the wolves back away from the mutilated body with blood on their muzzles and paws.

"Jeez" Kayla puffed with shock "That looks brutal."

"Guys" Ramona spoke calmly, "If we ever have to kill a person in this mess, and we most likely will, remind yourself that you're doing it for a good cause, it helps."

They nodded in agreement as they turned and headed down the street with the wolves following, not wanting to look back at the body.
