Put my heart on the line for you,
Just to be reeled in and cast out
Once more.
You used me
To feel in others.
To paint a beautiful image of yourself,
So others wouldn't see the beast you are.
You grinned and smiled
As people walked past.
Laughed and joked
Just so the paint looked neat.
But when the hale storm came,
And the ice melted into water,
It dripped
And made your paint smear,
Showing the beast beneath.
Everything exposed,
You unhooked me,
And told me to never come back.
