Darkness

It swallowed up my essence,
Took me into it's grasp,
And drug me into a depth that I never wanted.
It laughed and taunted,
Pulled and stabbed,
Making me it's powerless victim.
Removing my light,
I fell into the depth,
And let it swallow me.

It laughed in Victory as I gave up,
Letting my head hang and my body go limp.
My soul,
Wept and cried out for aid.
But no aid was found.
Nothing was to be seen in the darkness.
