As the breeze shook the trees,
It made my heart fall off of my sleeve.
It fell to the depth of the sea,
As I cried out the name of the one I loved.
Out came the sirens,
And they listened to my wails of pain,
And offered an escape,
So that they could be free and I could be hostage.
I accepted the fate of the broken heart.
I kissed the creature upon its lips and fell into the ocean's arms.
It wrapped me up in a foamy blanket,
And carried me out to the sea's darkest places.
There, I was engulfed,
Yet I didn't drown.
I opened my eyes and saw a world that I couldn't recognize.
My heart sank,
For I had no clue who I was,
Nor how I got there.
I could smell the fish and the salt of the sea.
And so I sobbed,
But not one tear was to be seen.
I coughed,
And didn't choke upon the water that was in my lungs.
I had become the heart broken siren who took my place as someone new
