Time to go back down our old road.
You know,
I wish you could see how I look at you.
I wish we never went astray.
Time to restart.
We went down so many jagged roads,
Afraid I'd close my eyes,
Afraid I'd open them,
And you'd be gone.
I'd rest my head upon your chest,
Fall asleep to the rhythm of your heart.
I'd gently kiss your lips,
And I could feel them fade from mine.
I have sobbed,
In the middle of the night.
I have felt the pain of a broken heart.
I have felt the spark renew.
The flame is burning once more.
It had been suffocated,
So it went out.
Huge gusts of fear and doubt put me out.
But soft words,
And the air has helped my small burning tinder became a raging fire again.
I can now light up all the rooms.
The happiness has come back,
Now that the storm has quieted down.
The once burned out candle,
Now has a new and stronger wick.
My flame is a Rosie yellow,
And I can see the happiness painted across everyone's face once again.
