Chapter 18, Pressure.

*Lucy's POV*

I woke up to nightmares that day. Madam Pomfrey let me go yesterday, which was before night had come.

Nightmares were unusual for me, but I had woken up in a cold sweat and felt clammy.

They all noticed but only Sirius had known what had happened which was better than all of them knowing.

I was in a pretty good mood today, which was honestly kind of hard these days, after the accident everything went downhill. I turned a corner and saw him coming.

Oh no..
Well shit..
Shut up I'm trying to think.....
You shut up,
Ok I have no time,
Then it came to me, I can sneak back in the hospital wing, I saw Professor McGonagall and ran to her.

"Hey Minnie," I said calmly as I ran to her side, "Hello Lucy, feel any better?" "Loads," "Good thing to hear," "Er, well," he came next to me, and smirked, "I'm thinking of doing something," she looked at me expectantly.

He left and I sighed, "Thanks Minnie." I said smiling, "I owe you!" I said running off to find at least Lily. After what seemed an eternity, which was probably 5 minutes, Sirius and James came around the corner.

Thank goodness......

"Hey," I said, not as bubbly as I was before. "Did she finally agree?" Asked James, "Yes. Thankfully, it was getting painful." I think Sirius noticed my expression because he told James that he'd meet him later, James got the clue and left.

I was in the tree, the same one I had been in so many years ago(with James), when I got jealous because of Sirius. We were looking over the lake, our feet dangling down, seeing here and there the occasional giant squid tentacle.

   "I'm thinking if resigning." I blurted out. He blinked, "Really?" I sighed, did he really just ask why? "Yes Sirius." I let go and went into a laying position but since there was nothing I looked like a monkey, holding on with my feet. Sirius wasn't surprised because he had found me doing that before. It was our free period so we had plenty of time.

  "I think you know why Sirius." I heard a thump noise and figured Sirius got down. I soon saw a upside down Sirius. "But you would show your weakness, and he would 'celebrate' that, make fun of you." I sighed, Sirius was right. "I can't face him Sirius, I just can't." I said, my vision becoming blurry but returned to normal after I blinked back the tears.

  "But," "No buts! I said no," I looked behind him and saw a group of girls giggling in our direction. (They weren't looking at me.) "Your fan club is here." I said and in a flash I retuned to sitting, then dropped down. I walked away from him and just heard cries of "Lucy—" "Come on-" and "Pleas-" I walked away from him, coldly and found Remus soon after. We went to the kitchens and we talked, I wanted him to get everybody else, including Lily, before I told them about that night.

  When they got there, I got nervous and tensed up, and decided to tell them that I'm quitting Quidditch. "What!?" Said James, "But you're like the 2nd best player in the field!" Lily looked annoyed and said, "and let me guess you're the 1st player in the field, (he nodded) "Wow Potter your ego is bigger than your head!"

"What?" "Why?" "You're the best player we won't find someone like you!" "What made you do this conclusion!?" "Whyyyyy???!!!" I guess Lily noticed that I was getting irritated because she told everyone, "Shut it! Or I'll transfigure you into pots! Or better, pigs!" She was looking at James when she said that.

"At least tell us why," James whined, "I'm not going to tell you guys." I said looking down at the floor, surprising me, Peter squeaked out a, "Can you please tell us?" Remus was kind of just looking at me, as if he was examining me, which made me uncomfortable since that other night. "Remus, don't give me that look."

"Is something wrong?" Asked James suddenly, "I'm fine!" I said in frustration. "Sirius, do you know?" Sirius shook his head but he was making it obvious that he knew. "I know you better than that Sirius." "It's not my story to tell." They all looked back at me, "Story?" said Remus, "STOP LOOKING AT ME!" I said snapping. I curled in a ball clutching my hair in the floor.

"Woah Lucy are you ok?" said James, being as oblivious as he was. Lily punched him and I said, "do I look okay? Tell me, do I look okay?" I said, my eyes blurry from the tears that were threatening to jump out and eventually they did. Sirius was the first to join me, then Lily,then Remus, then James and lastly Peter. After I could talk I told them what had happened.

"Lucy," said Lily softly. James jumped from his seat and said, "I'm going to kill him." "James," groaned Remus. "I'm serious." "No he's Sirius." Said Peter pointing to Sirius. We all looked at each other as if saying, Really? Good joke though.

I had nightmares that night. I woke up panting, a bit sweaty, and saw that it was midnight. Nobody was awake. I went down to the common room, with my wand as I always do ever since then. I found it empty, and I looked at the flames, and just thought, how would I tell Professor McGonagall to get me out of Quidditch before telling her the whole story? I decided that I would think about it later and tried to drift of to sleep. Once more I couldn't, and I decided to go to a place I hadn't been in since last year, the hideout.

That place calmed me, I saw the stars as I drifted off to sleep.
