*Lucys POV*

I was still in shock from being able to do that, especially with the person I loved. If I had a sickle from every time I dreamed about leaving my family and starting over.

"I'm finally going to live my dream." I whispered.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, ever since I was little I wanted to leave. Leave my family behind. I only ever liked Newt and Ari and well, my parents took them away from me. Verbally abused throughout my childhood, I just wanted to get away from them. Everything was just so horrible. I hated them, I still do. But just thinking about that," I swallowed thickly, "It was just so terrible feeling trapped in there. And it's just so-"

And he tightly hugged me letting me sob into his shoulder.

"Nothing better than a cheerful Christmas, am I right?"

"It was cheerful. For awhile. But this is fine, you're just spilling everything that you've kept inside."

"Yeah. Look Sirius, even if you did escape right before they could have their grasp on you. I was never as brave as you Sirius to just walk out of there and escape them."

"You're right. You were braver."

I laughed at what he said.

"Look, I know it's cheesy," He said with a smile, "But it is true. You could've had a lot of options to leave in various ways but you never did. You never tried because you knew that they could change. And that's why you stayed."

"But I did try to leave," I pushed my sleeves down, "In different ways. Sometimes it was by sleeping with something over my head and tying it so that it wouldn't be as easy to take it off. Sometimes it would be drinking all of the medicine I could find, sometimes sneaking around and just looking for knives. Sometimes it was small and simple. I would just walk, walk next to where the cars would, not looking before walking.

"I did try to escape. I just never succeeded."

He took a small pause, "I'm glad you didn't succeed until a few years ago Lucy. I don't know what I would've done if you weren't here anymore."

"I'm glad somebody cares."

"We all do Lucy. Now let's get back inside. It's bloody freezing out here!"

Going back inside, I drank some of the hot chocolate that Moony had prepared.

We talked and we discussed names while we ate more cookies and baked treats, it was very festive in there.

After Lily and James had decided to go to bed, and I had decided that I was too tired to go home so I was going to be sleeping over, Sirius agreed to stay with me.

Slowly, everybody left. Wormtail left to go with his parents, and Moony wanted to be with his father for Christmas.

I was playing with the Christmas lights when I heard Padfoot and Moony.

Walking silently over, I saw the door had been open when I heard the two argue.

"I know you're the spy Remus," Sirius said.

Fuck

I heard the swift sound of flesh against flesh.

"How do we know that you're not the spy?" Remus said coldly, "We all know what your family's like."

"I am not like the rest of my family."

I snarled at Remus as I went to meet them. Stepping over Sirius defensively, I barked at him to leave.

He chuckled to himself, "Don't tell me you believe him too Lucy?"

I only barked at him again. Sure, I had a tiny human growing inside of me, but I sure as hell could kick his ass.

Shaking his head, he finally left.

I turned back into a human.

"Why? Why couldn't you have done this later?"

He looked down, "I'm sorry."

"It's already done anyways Si," I told him, "Let me try to fix your nose. Episkey."

"Thanks." He said, "I'm not like the rest of my family right?"

"You are nowhere near being like any of them, okay? Moony just feels...a little betrayed by what you accused him of."

Sirius stayed silent. "I love you," I said.

"I love you too."

He put his head on my shoulder. Getting a blanket, I wrapped it around both of us until he fell asleep. Shortly after, it started to snow making him hug me tightly.
