Chapter 65, Lily and James.

*Lucys POV*

The day was amazing. We had a beautiful view of the sunset and it was just..wow. I'll never forget that day. 

Once we danced everything else was calm. I went outside for a while because I was just so overwhelmed. I heard some footsteps around the corner and I followed.

Unafraid, I said, "Wait!"

He turned around to reveal himself.

"Congratulations. I'm really glad for you and Sirius."

"Thank you Regulus. I thought you weren't going to make it?"

"I didn't think so either. I'm afraid I won't stay for much longer, I've got plans."

"With who?"

"I can't say."

I noticed he kept his left forearm right beside him, as if hiding it.

"Give me your arm Regulus." I called out. He walked towards me and showed me his right arm.

"Your left arm."

"I'd rather not, I got badly injured at a quidditch game two weeks ago."

"I don't believe that for a second."

I grabbed his arm and forcibly removed the sleeve to expose the dark mark. He sighed and took it back.

"When did it happen?"

"Just when I started school."

"You can't do this."

"It's not like I'm doing this because I want to, I need to make my parents proud! Without me, they'd have nothing!"

"But we have you! And you have us, you can't just do it because they want you to!"

"I can and I have to!"

"You have a choice believe it or not."

"You're right, I don't believe you."

"Liste--"

"No! You listen to me. You don't know what I've gone through. You might think that I didn't care about Sirius and only cared about me but I don't. I miss him, father almost had a heart attack when he found out that Sirius had run away. You have no idea how much it hurt when I first heard him say that James was his brother as if I was just a reject. You have no idea what it's like to be in a family when they're all twisted most of the times! The only sane person in my family was a cousin that got disowned. And then to lose your family over a stupid belief!"

"But do you believe it?"

"No. Sometimes. Maybe. Some of it."

"Well, it's still not their choice!"

"It is when they have all control over you and your life."

"I know what it's like to have no control over your thoughts, and it might just be the most painful thing. Regulus, I'm not just telling you these things just because, no, I'm speaking for both me and Sirius. We love you ok? I-we just want you to be ok. To be happy."

"I'm not happy, I just fake it."

"Easy to fake huh? Just pop a smile in and everybody thinks that you're the happiest person alive."

"Yes," His voice cracking, just like when you're about to cry. "The easiest." He smiled but it faltered for a moment which made me repeat it and hug him.

"You're going to be alright, I promise." I whispered, hoping that I could make come true.

"I believe you."

We stayed there in silence, enjoying each others company.

"I need to go." Regulus finally said breaking the silence.

"Is it?"

"Yes."

"Well, be safe out there ok?"

"I will."

"Don't do anything that can hurt you."

"I promise."

"Be careful. I don't want you being hurt."

"I'll try."

"Lucy?" Sirius' voice rang out.

"Now it's my turn to go."

"Yeah." Regulus said. "I really am happy for you two."

"Thank you."

"Tell Sirius that I miss him."

"Will do."

"Thank you. You know, you'll be a great mother someday. Until we meet again."

And he apparated away, leaving me to my thoughts.

"Lucy?"

"I'm here."

We met and I smiled at him, which he returned.

"Who were you talking to?"

"I was talking to myself. I was just thinking about something."

"Minnie and Hagrid wanted to see you."

And we walked away from where I had just looked at a completely different side of Regulus.

"Hello Lucy. Congratulations to the both of you."

"Thank you Minnie."

"Hello Lucy." The friendly giant said. He was crying, in which Minnie tried to comfort him.

"Hey Hagrid. Oh, Hagrid, don't cry."

"I know, but you and Sirius are getting married and it's jus' so.." And he never got to finish the sentence.

We went back inside and found Moony, Lily, Prongs, and Peter standing there. Moony introduced us to his parents, Lyall and Hope. Hope looked sick, her hair thinning and she had to lean on Lyall for support.

"Hi, nice to meet you."

"Hello and congratulations."

"Thank you."

James asked for me and Sirius specifically, talking nonsense about who knows what. Once we were good distance away James quickly told us something.

"I'm going to ask Lily to marry me."

"Right here right now?" I asked him.

"Right here, right now." He repeated.

"That's great Prongs. Do you have the ring?"

"Well, no."

"Prongs!"

"I'm kidding I do."

"Well go ask her Bambi!"

"Hey!"

"Just ask her!"

"Ok, ok!"

He got ready and he asked Lily to go to the middle of all the commotion. He kneeled down and Lily seemed to be in shock for a moment until she jumped up and screamed out a yes.
