*Lucys POV*

I arrived a week later, tired to the point that I felt like collapsing.

Sirius was the first to come to me, giving me a bone crushing hug. Everyone else followed suit.

"I'm so glad you're ok, I couldn't bare to lose you."
"Don't you ever do that again."
"We thought you were dead."
"We contacted the order but they said you couldn't be contacted because you were in a secret mission."

Prongs helped me with some of the injuries, but I still felt as if it were just a vivid nightmare.

"Marlene and her family died." Was the only thing I could choke out. Lily and Sirius were the ones most affected. I tolerated Marlene, but to have her die in front of your eyes, was something else.

Sirius got out of the room which made me feel horrible.

Was she better than me?

No, he wouldn't have asked you to marry him otherwise.

Wouldn't he?

I ran out of the room and tried to follow him but James grabbed my arm and said, "He needs to be alone right now," I pulled away and said, "Being alone is one of the most dangerous things in the world."

I ran to find him. I found him under a tree in a small hill, crying. The moonlight illuminating him.

"I'm sorry I couldn't save her. I tried, I really did." I explained, sitting down next to him.

"It's not your fault." He quietly said. It stayed quiet for a second until I broke the silence. "Do you really love me?"

Sirius looked really taken aback. "Of course I do, I just..I didn't mean to..I'm--"

"It's fine, I'm just..jealous," I admitted, "I guess it's just that--" and then he shut me up by kissing me.

"I'll always love you more than you could ever imagine. If you don't think that for a single second, I don't know what I would do."

"I love you too Pads."

I wouldn't tell anyone how it had happened, especially Lily and Sirius. I relieved it for days, the nightmares repeating. After a particularly hard week and finally becoming an Auror, I stayed home while Sirius went to someplace. He just said something about muggles, so I'm pretty sure he went to someplace where it was full of muggles.

I quietly wandered around the house, looking at the mess it was currently in. With help of my magic, I cleaned the house and went through some of my boxes.

I went through one of Sirius' out of curiosity, finding a box that simply would not budge no matter what.

I eventually gave up on it, thinking that if Padfoot had put a spell like that, he would probably would not want anyone else to see it.

Digging through the same box, I saw a card address to him. I opened it amd learned that it was from Regulus. He had been begging him to come home, until the letters suddenly stopped, and had a gut feeling of what had happened.

I left the boxes at once, feeling guilt for invading his privacy. I saw a box of mine that was labeled.

"TRASH"

I knew it was more than that, because I know how I am, and how neglecting I can be. Also, why didn't I just throw it away if it was just trash? I opened it to find a familiar box with my families' crest on it.

Although the box itself was a beauty. Scarlet with gold leaves upon them, some were painted with paint some were real.

My family crest was simple enough, a shield with a rose in the middle and a fire burning it. On the bottom it said Ross-Flames, for obvious reasons. I at least hope that they are obvious.

I opened the box to find what I thought I had left back home.

One thing everyone should know is that my family gives personalized daggers, or anything that can be precious really.

Mine had been a dagger, with a gryffindor crest in the middle of the quillion, made from real gold and rubies. The quillion made from pure gold, the blade from rubies, with a lion head painted on it.

It gave me a lot of memories specifically from when I got it. But I don't want to think so I shook that thought out of my head, the silence suffocating. I cleaned the house and went to rest.

Sirius woke me up accidentally when he laid down in the bed.

"Hey," I sleepily said, "Shit, I didn't mean to wake you up. Sorry," He apologized. "It's fine- were you smoking?"

"What, no." Padfoot scoffed and turned around. "I thought you were going to lay them off!"

"I know, I'm sorry, I just..I can't."

"Yeah, it's fine I guess."

Just hope you don't die.
