Chapter 76, Sicknesses.

*Lucys POV*

After Lily and James had left Padfoot told me, "It's barely early afternoon and I feel like hell."

"What do you mean?" I asked him.

"I dunno, it's just that my throat feels itchy-ish, and my head hurts and also that m—"

I put my hand on his forehead, "Sirius you're burning up."

"That would explain it."

I drew him a bath, and in which he complained about the bubbles being too bubbly.

"I think I'll take the non sick Sirius back."

He put on a sly grin, "Don't you mean Black?"

"Sirius, you just—you're lucky that you're sick."

As early October rolled in, it made everything difficult. Then Sirius had gotten sick and started to act as if he was dying, and then there was order business, and my auror priorities, with all that, my hands were full.

"We can take care of Padfoot Lums."

"Are you sure? He's a very needy child Prongs."

"Positive, plus I'll have Lily with me. And Moony too." He explained.

"Okay." I said, "Yeah, okay. Just tell him that I love him."

"Sure," Prongs said ushering me out of the house, "Working might stress you more but you need to get out of this house more."

"I know. Look, I'll just be back by 7."

"I'll be able to take care of him Lucy."

"Yeah you will. Thanks James."

"No problem."

As if worrying and stressing weren't enough, Mad-Eye along with Peyton Urie were putting a lot of pressure on me. Poor Lorie was also having trouble.

I stayed the whole day rotting away in the offices trying to solve some cases. I also got interviewed twice throughout the day for The Daily Prophet, though I doubt they'll just anything of what I actually said.

Fucking bastards probably think that the war is a joke.

Waking up to somebody poking me awake to find out it was just one of the new interns.

"Hey Sawyer. Sorry you have to see me in this state." I apologized, "Its fine, I brought you coffee, thought you'd need it."

"Yeah well you're right. Thank you." I told him, "Although if I may ask, why are you here so late?"

"Er, I don't really have much family near here and I thought I would work on some extra shifts."

"Oh." I simply said, "I have to get back to work, thanks again Sawyer."

"You're welcome."

Not finding the keys to the house, I ended up just using alohamora. I tried to sneak in as the sun was already coming up when I saw James and Lily sleeping in the couch.

As quietly as possible, I tried to close the door but almost fell when I was going into my bedroom which led to me cursing loudly.

"Are you trying to sneak past us?" Lily asked, "Yes Mum." I joked, "We just want to know where you've been."

"I've been working my arse off at the ministry for your information. Now if you'd allow me, I'd like to sleep."

"Yeah go ahead." Prongs told me, "Do you think we should tell her that we kinda knocked Sirius out with his medicine?"

"No."

As I walked into the bedroom, I heard Sirius mumble my name.

"Yeah, I'm here. I'm here Si." I told him.

"I heard you cussing less than ten minutes ago," he said with a playful tone, "What time is it?"

"I don't know but it's morning already," I said, "They kept me at the ministry the whole day."

"C'mere. I'll sleep better with you in my arms."

And I obliged, knowing that I needed a well earned break.

"I love you Sirius."

"I love you too Lucy."
