Michael's POV
"MIchael Clifford? We would like you to come with us" One man in the police uniform strides over to me and tells me. I look at Danni who gives me a sad look. I nod and follow the man.
He leads me to a small room with a table in the middle, on the table it looks like a radio and speakers. I sit on the chair oppisite two police officers and my hands begin to shake.
"Mr Clifford, I am Officer Ried, I will be asking you questions on the killing of Mr Monk" One man says and rests his elbows on the table. "Firstly, what happened?" He asks me looking straight into my eyes.
"He's not happy about me and his daughter being together, about 2 years ago he tried to kill me, by suffocation because he thought she was pregnant, he got arrested, then was let out on bail. He somehow found out that me and his daughter were engaged and wasn't happy. He came to our house with a gun, long story short, I was on the floor, he was kneeling over me, gun to my head, I thought I was going to die, I turned the gun around as he pulled the trigger and the bullet went into him, not me" I say, surprisingly my voice didn't crack under pressure. The officer next to him wrote down notes on his clipboard and nodded.
"So, you're saying that it was a self defence?" He aks leaning back in his chair.
"Yes" I answer quickly.
"Why wasn't Mr Monk happy with your relationship with his daughter?" he presses, which makes me rack my brain, I really had no idea why he didn't approve
"I - I don't know, he hated me" I said playing with my fingers.
"Right, I think that is all here" he says and presses a button on the radio looking object.
I follow him out off the small room, down the dark, long corridor, still handcuffed, I hate it here. I see Danni with her head in her hands sat in the same place as she was an hour ago when I left her.
"We have decided that Mr Clifford is innocent, that it was self defense and he doesn't have to pay for his actions" He says as we reach Danni, I sigh in relief, it's finally over, no more worrying about Danni's dad and no jail. It feels as though a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. He walks away and I scoop Danni off her feet, we both laugh, not hysterical laughs but laughs of relief and happiness. It's finally over.
