Chapter 93

Michael's POV

"so do you think your mum will approve of our engagement?" I ask worryingly. She looks up with a concerned face.

"Um.. well... we will have to see later when we see her" she stutters.

We pull up at Karens house, I stare at it for a while. What if she doesn't approve. I'm sat here wondering what the outcome will be.

"Come on" she says and pats my arm. I twist the key and turn off then engine before stepping out. She walks around the car and joins me. We both take a breath and slowly walk to the door. After a couple of seconds the door clicks and opens.

"Danni! Michael!" she squeals and wraps her as around us. "So what did you want to talk to me about?" she says after releasing us from her grasp.

"Well.. I.. we" Danni stutters under pressure from Karens glare. "Can we have a drink please?" Danni says and Karen nods walking into the kitchen.

"What shall we do" I whisper loudly.

"I don't know, I don't know how to tell her" she whispers back. My heart races as she comes back with two glasses of orange juice.

I take a sip of the juice. Why am I so nervous?

"I.. we need to tell you something" She say confidently, defying her feelings inside.

"What's the matter sweetie" she asks, her eyes flickering between the two of us.

"I asked your daughter to marry me" I say and Karens face drops.

"You did what!" she yells, making me want to back away in a shell.

"I love her, I thought it was right. I hope it's okay" I say, my voice shaking.

"No it's not okay, she's 18!" she shouts, the veins in her head bulging.

"But mum" Danni whines.

"No Danni, you two aren't getting married. End of. Now get out" she says pointing the to door. We stand from our seats and now our heads in shame as we walk out of the house.

"I'm so sorry Karen" I say, my heart is shattered once again on the floor and walk out into the night sky.
