24. STAKE OUT

Maymay and Tanner's date was a success.

Tanner informed Maymay that he really is interested with her even before he knew he was the girl that his Tita Cathy is setting up with him.

'I was amazed on how you are able to control Edward and not letting him boss you around. You are the first to do that from what I know.' Sabi ni Tanner kay Maymay.

'Someone needs to step up.' Sagot ni Maymay. 'That's what they hired me for.'

'I really wish May, that this wouldn't be the last date we will have. I do not want to be calling Tita Cathy everytime just to make you say yes.' Nangungusap ang mga matang sagot ni Tanner.

'You are a great guy Tanner. Aside from Tito Kevin and Luis, you are one of the few men I have known to be this gentle. Something I don't see everyday, if you know what I mean.' Natatawa namang sagot ni Maymay.

'So can I expect another date with you?' Tanong ni Tanner.

'How about Sunday?' And she gave him her most beautiful smile.

'Sunday is perfect!' Wala namang mapaglagyan ang saya ng binata sa sinabi ni Maymay.

'Lunch? I want you to meet my friend.'

'Oohhh. Interrogation time. Alright. Lunch is fine.' Tatango tango namang sagot ng binata.

Lumabas na si Tanner ng sasakyan at ipinagbukas si Maymay ng pintuan.

'Thanks for tonight Tanner. I really had a great time.' Sabi ni Maymay habang nakatayo silang dalawa sa tapat ng town house ng dalaga.

'I am glad you did. See you on Sunday?'

'You bet.' Lumapit si Maymay kay Tanner at hinalikan ito sa pisngi.

Inantay ni Tanner makapasok sa loob ng bahay si Maymay bago ito sumakay muli sa kanyang sasakyan na hawak pa din ang pisnging nilapatan ng labi ng dalaga.

Without him knowing that Edward's car was just around the corner.

He went out on a drink with his friends but His thoughts were full of just Maymay.

Where are they?

What are they doing?

What are they talking about?

Is she enjoying his company?

Dahil hindi din naman makapag focus ang binata, napagpasyahan nitong iwanan ang dalawang kaibigan.

'Where are you going?' Tanong ni Marco dito.

'Home.' Sagot naman ni Edward.

'Dude! It's still early. Let's not waste the night.' Sagot naman ni Jeremy.

'I'm starting to dislike this kind of scene!' Sagot naman ni Edward.

'See you 2. Let me know once you're decided to hang out with just a coffee mug at hand and not bottle of beers.' At tuluyan ng nilayasan ni Edward ang mga kaibigan.

He was surprised to see how Maymay interacted with Tanner after they went out of his car.

She was smiling.

Smiling genuinely.

Which makes him furious for a reason he doesn't know.

Why?

'Cause she haven't smiled like that for you ever.' His subconcious said.

'Do you want her to smile like that when she's with you?' He asked himself.

'Hell yeah. I want to see her smile like that,

But only for me.'

Natatawa na lamang si Edward sa sarili. She doesn't want to share even her smile to someone else.

He knows he is being selfish but thinking about it, Maymay is someone you really do not want to share with anyone.

He has never met a girl like her before. Sure, she's difficult and that's what makes her one of a kind.

She's the only one who doesn't get affected by his charm.

Her and his mom of course.

And just the thought of that made him pull his hair and bang his head lightly on the steering wheel, for he doesn't know what to do.

It had only been hours since they separated but he already misses her.

'Tang ina! Ano bang nangyayari sayo Edward!'

Kinuha ni Edward ang telepono at tinawagan si Maymay.

Makatapos ang tatlong ring ang sinago naman ng dalaga ang tawag niya.

'Yes Mr. Barber.' Bungad nito.

'He-hey!' Nauutal na sagot naman ng binata. He doesn't know what to say.

Damn! He doesn't even know why he called her in the first place.

'What do you need?' Tanong ni Maymay.

'N-nnothing.' Sagot naman nito.

'Then why you called?'

'I-- I don't know.' And he is being honest.

'Mr. Barber. Stop playing around. If you called to distract me from my date, you're too late. I'm already home.' Sagot naman ni Maymay.

'I know.' Tipid na sagot ni Edward.

'You knoow? How?'

'I'm outside of your house.'

Dali dali namang sumilip si Maymay sa bintana at hinanap ang sasakyan ni Edward which she spotted just on the corner street.

'What are you doing there?' Takang tanong naman ng dalaga.

'Stop asking me questions! I don't know! Okay?' Naiinis namang sagot ng binata.

'You're crazy! Go home Mr. Barber! Good night!' Binabaan ni Maymay ng telepono ang binata.

Nagtago siya sa gilid ng bintana habang nakamasid pa din sa sasakyan ng binata.

He stayed there for a few more minutes after she dropped the call and then he drove off after.

Hindi naman mapakali ang dalaga sa kanyang silid.

'What is he doing there?' Tanong ni Maymay sa sarili.

'For sure gusto lang mang-asar nun. And I do not want to give him the satisfaction of that.' Sagot din niya.

She walked away from the window after he left and dumped herself on the bed.

Her date with Tanner had been amazing but she feels guilty cause she was thinking of another man the whole time. She was called out by Tanner a few times and her only excuse was because her thoughts was left in the office.

Not of work.

But of the person she was working for. Of course Tanner doesn't have to know that.

She wants to give Tanner a try. Cause he made her felt like she deserves more than just a casual fuck.

She knows she deserves more than just a casual fuck. Which is why she asked him out on a date on Sunday.

She just hopes that her mind would be cleared off of her boss' thoughts.

Why does he have to be soooo good in bed?????

Oops sorry. She means why does he have to be so good in his desk.

And the elevator.

And in his car.
