38. THE MORNING AFTER

Maymay woke up with a feel of longing. She reached out beside her to feel him once more but was taken aback when the other side of the bed is empty.

She immediately felt a pang in her chest with the thought of him leaving.

Probably. Probably it was only the alcohol that made him said everything he said last night and none of it was true.

She looked around her and sigh in relief when she saw that his things are still in there.

She immediately got up from bed and picked up every piece of clothing she lost from the night before. Remembering those made her smile genuinely even if her middle is hurting.

Edward was right. She is now having a hard time walking. They only did it once and yet she's feeling sore.

Dahan dahang bumaba si Maymay dahil nga sa pananakit ng katawan. Sakto namang nakita niya ang kanyang ina.

'Ma!' Tawag niya dito.

'Sssshhhhh! Wag ka maingay!' Sita nito sa kanya saka ininguso ang natutulog na binata sa sofa.

'Bakit dun ka natulog sa kwarto mo? Kawawa naman to si Edward oh at isiniksik ang katawan niya dito sa sofa.' Madahang sabi ng ina.

'H-hhuh? Aaah eeh nakalimutan ko po kasi na dun nga pala ako sa kwarto niyo matutulog.' Palusot ng dalaga.

'Nilinis mo ba yung higaan nito dun sa taas? Gisingin mo kaya't paakyatin mo ng makapagpahinga ng maayos.'

'Ehh si-sige po.' Lumuhod si Maymay sa tabi ni Edward at sinubukan itong gisingin.

'Edward..Edward..' tinapik-tapik ng dalaga ang mukha ni Edward.

Hindi naman nagtagal ay naalimpungatan na ang binata at inilingkis ang kamay kay Maymay at dahan dahang nagmulat ng mata.

'Good morning beautiful.' Bati nito sa dalaga habang nakangiti na ikinagulat naman ni Maymay.

Napatingin agad si Maymay sa ina na hindi pa umaalis sa gilid nila. Naningkit ang mga mata ng ginang na tila ba ay winawari ang nakikita habang nagtataka sa kilos ng binata.

Agad agad naman tinanggal ni Maymay ang kamay ni Edward.

Edward sensed the discomfort from Maymay's face and knew that someone is looking at them.

'Ay. Bat ka anjan.' Kunwaring nagulat si Edward.

'Nananaginip pa ata ako.' Palusot ni Edward saka lumingon sa likod at nakita nga niya ang nanay ni Maymay. 'Good morning po.' Bati nito.

'Good morning hijo. Umakyat ka na muna sa taas nang makapagpahinga ka ng maayos?' Tanong nito sa ginang.

'Maymay, ayusin mo yung pinaghigaan mo dun. Baka magulo pa yun. Ikaw pa naman, hindi mo agad nililigpit ang pinagtulugan mo.' Sita ng ina nito sa kanya.

'Ma!!' Nahihiyang awat ni Maymay sa ina na nagsimula na naman ng litanya niya.

'Akyat ka na daw.' Sabi ni Edward kay Maymay na may mapaglarong ngiti sa gilid ng labi.

Sumunod naman si Maymay na kunwaring nagdadabog.

Maya-maya pa ay sumunod din naman si Edward sa itaas at inakap agad si Maymay mula sa likod pagkapasok na pagkapasok nito sa kwarto. Isinubsob niya ang ulo sa leeg nito.

'Hmmm. A very good morning indeed.' Bulong nito.

'Edward ano ba.' Sita ni Maymay. 'Bukas yung pinto oh.'

'Then I'll close it.' Saka isinara ni Edward ang pintuan.

'Bakit iniwanan mo ako dito?' Tanong ni Maymay sa binata.

'Uhm, cause that's a lot easier to explain to anyone who asks than explaining why we slept here both together right?'

'Yun nga pala. I have to ask you something.' Tanong ng dalaga.

'Shoot.'

'So this.' She pointed herself and Edward. 'What is this now?' Halata ang pangamba sa mukha ni Maymay. She doesn't want to be the one to ask but she needs to have clarity what they are now.

Dahan dahan namang lumapit si Edward kay Maymay at inakap ito. 'You, Mine. Me, Yours.'

'Sooo. Soo a-are we now in a relationship?' Tanong nito muli kay Edward.

'Yes. Of course! Ayaw mo ba?' Nakakunot ang noong tanong ni Edward.

'Gu-gusto siyempre but I just have one favor to ask.' Sagot naman ni Maymay.

'What is it?'

'Can we---can we keep this between us first?' Tanong ni Maymay kay Edward.

'H-huh? Why?'

'I- I don't want to surprise both our families with, you know and you father trusted me to not be the same as any other women who fell for you.'

'You are not like any other woman!' Mariing sagot naman ni Edward.

'I know. I know. But still. Let's break it to them gently okay? Let them see how things have changed between us, slowly. Hindi yung biglaan.'

'I don't like that idea.' Sagot naman ni Edward.

'Sige na please?' Paglalambing naman ni Maymay. 'I really love my job, Edward. I don't want to lose it. I don't want to break your family's trust.' Pakiusap naman ni Maymay.

Napabuntong hininga na lamang si Edward. He knows how important is the job to Maymay and he doesn't want to be the reason that would cause her to lose it.

'Fine! Fine! But you have to kiss me first.' Sagot naman ni Edward.

So Maymay hooked her arms on Edward's neck and smashed her lips on his but before he got so carried away, he manager to push her away when a thought came to mind.

'Wait! I will agree to this secrecy only if you promise that you will never go out on a date with Tanner ever again! Tell him!'

'What? I can't!' Sagot naman ni Maymay.

'I mean, I can promise to never go out with him again but I cannot tell him!' Sagot naman nito.

'Why not?'

'If I tell Tanner then Tanner will tell your Mom and I'm dead!'

Napaisip naman si Edward and realized that Maymay has a point! 'Damn, Tanner!'

'Wag ka ng magalit!' Paglalambing ulit ni Maymay.

'Sige ka pagnagalit ka. Wala kang round 2.' Panunukso nito sa binata na agad namang nakapagpabago ng mood ni Edward.

'Round 2?' Pag-ulit pa nito habang taas baba ang kilay.

'Yeah, you know, me and you, us, in this bed.' Maymay's tone suddenly changed and it becomes more seductive while she's trying to lose her shirt.

'You really are such a tease!' Napakagat labi na lamang si Edward ng tanggalin ni Maymay ang pangitaas nito at kasunod ang shorts na suot.

'Do you really wanna do this while everyone is already awake?' Tanong ni Edward.

'I'd be quiet! I promise!' Nakangiting sagot ni Maymay.

'Oh I don't mind you being loud. I would love to fuck you hard that Tanner could hear it! That would give hik the idea that he is done!'

'Mean!' Sita ni Maymay habang nakangiti.

'Like what I said, I don't share what's mine.' Sagot naman ni Edward.

'Ditto!' Maymay said. 'Now come here and make me happy!'

Edward runs his eyes appreciatively down her body, over her exposed breasts and settles his gaze on the center of her thighs. 'You're impossibly beautiful and all mine.'

He removed every piece of her clothing and left nothing behind. He was at the bottom of the bed while she was spread out lying.

She looked down at him and see her chest lifting with every breath. He sparks the most incredible reactions in her and she feels defenseless to him. It's hopeless. She's hopeless.

His eyes find hers.

'I think I'll let you come first.'
