Bago matapos ang araw ay ipinatawag si Maymay sa opisina ni Kevin.

'Hi, tito.' Bati niya dito.

'Hi, hija. Sit.' Sagot naman nito.

Agad namang sumunod si Maymay sa matanda. 'Bakit po?' Kinakabahan si Maymay sa kung bakit siya pinatawag nito. Alam niyang mag-uusap sila gaya ng napagkasunduan nung dinner pero hindi pa din handa ang puso niya sa kung ano mang sasabihin nito.

'How are you?' Tanong nito sa kanya.

'Okay naman po Tito. Kayo po ni Tita?'

'Well, after you left us off last weekend me and your Tita Cathy had been very happy. Surprised but very happy.' Sagot naman nito ng naka ngiti.

'Anyway, i know that you know that you and Edward being together have it's consequences right.' Pasimula nito.

'Yes po Tito.'

'Good. I don't sugar coat Dale, so let me tell it to you straight. You cannot continue working for Edward anymore.' Sabi nito.

Alam ni Dale ang bagay na ito dahil nasa Ethics ng Company nila ang conflict of interest.

'I know po tito.' Sabi ni Dale.

'Now, I don't want you to think that I am doing this just because you are my son's girlfriend or just because you are close to our family. I am promoting you as the Director of Research and Development Team Dale.'

'Huh? Tito. Are you sure about this po? Not that I am not thankful po but isn't that too much of a leap?' Tanong nito.

'I don't think so Dale. You have been working for us for 3 years and the contribution you have made with Edward's team had been exeptional. You've helped him a lot. Now it's time for you to help that department too. You can do it Dale.' Sabi nito sa dalaga. 'You deserve it. Don't think otherwise.'

'Sobrang thank you po tito. I hope I don't fail you again this time.' Sabi niya sa matanda.

'You never did Dale. What happened between you and Edward pretty much is already expected I must say. We were really just waiting for Edward to realize it and we are so happy he did.'

'Thanks po ulit.' Saka nito niyakap ang matanda.

'I wouldn't take you away from him until next week.' Sabi nito.

'Does he know?' Tanong ni Maymay.

'Not yet. I'll talk to him after you.' Sabi nito. 'Ask him to be here.'

Hindi lubusang masaya ang puso ni Maymay sa nakuhang promotion. Una dahil maghihiwalay na sila ni Edward ng trabaho. Pangalawa, mas madami sasabihin ang mga tao. Pero gayun pa man, matindi ang pasasalamat na nararamdaman niya para sa ama nh nobyo.

Nang makababa si Maymay ay dumiretso ito sa opisina ng nobyo.

Mr. Barber! The Mister Barber is callng you to his office.' Tawag niya dito.

'Woah. I missed you calling me Mr. Barber.' Sabi nito.

'Whatever. Mamaya na harot. Tawag ka na po ng Daddy niyo.' Sabi nito.

'Sungit mo ah! Lagot ka sakin mamaya.' Pananakot naman nito.

'I was never afraid of you Mr. Barber. Never.' Sabi nito saka pinalo sa pwet ang nobyo para paalisin.

Edward went up to talk to his Dad. His Dad told him the same thing as he told Maymay.

'So whose gonna be my assistant?' Tanong ni Edward.

'We're gonna look for one starting tomorrow.' Sabi naman ng ama.

'Why does it have to be like that? You own the company! You can bend the rules.' Sabi nito.
