27. MOOD SWINGS

Maagang pumasok si Maymay sa opisina pagdating ng Lunes but much to her surprise mas maaga dumating ang boss niya sa kanya.

She have not seen him but the light in his office is already on.

'Aba! Himala!' Bulong ni Maymay sa sarili before she settled in her desk.

When she's settled on her seat, she noticed a stem of rose on her desk.

She picked it up and smelled it.

'Why do I have a feeling that today is gonna be a good day?' She placed the rose on top of her desk and soon after her phone rang.

'Hey. Good morning!' Bati niya

'Someone seems to be in a good mood.' Ani ng kausap.

'You think so?' Sagot naman ni Maymay na nakangiti.

'Yeah. So I would assume you got the flowers I sent you?'

'Flowers?'

Tiningnan ni Maymay ang bulaklak sa harapan. Flowers eh isa lang to? Baka my grammatical number issue si Tanner? Well anyway, flowers or flower, it's the thought that counts.

'Yes. The flowers.' Pagkonpirma nito.

'Ye--yeah. I got them.' Sagot naman ni Maymay.

'Great. That's a thank you for yesterday! I enjoyed our lunch date. Say hi to Pat for me.'

'Sure. Sure. Thanks for this Tanner.' Aniya.

'You're welcome. Looking forward to another one. Have a great day, May.'

'You too. Bye.'

Nagtataka man sa sinabi ni Tanner ay binalewala na lamang iyon ni Maymay and that was when his boss stoop out of his office.

'Good morning Miss Entrata.' Bati nito sa kanya.

'Good Morning Mr. Barber.' Balik naman ng dalaga dito.

'I am meeting Luis and Laura for breakfast. You want to join?' Tanong ni Edward kay Maymay na nagpaangat naman ng tingin ng dalaga?

'Anong meron sa araw na to?' Sa isip isip niya.

'No thanks. I've had a banana earlier.' Sagot niya sa binata.

Edward knows that May's stomach gets upset when she eats breakfast kaya hindi na niya ito pinilit.

'How about coffee or tea? Or Me?' Nakangising tanong ulit nito.

And he got a rolling eyes from Maymay. 'Uhm. No, i've had coffee earlier.' Pagtanggi ulit niya.

Then Edward gave her a 'really-now?' look.

'Fine. Fine.' Sabi niya. 'Iced White Chocolate Americano with Breve on top.'

'You sure it's coffee and not me?' Pang-aasar ni Edward.

'Yup! Coffee is all I need thank you.' Sagot naman ng dalaga.

'Ouch! Careful Miss Entrata!' Nakangiti namang sagot ni Edward.

'Whatever! Shoo now.' Pagtataboy ng dalaga sa kanya.

'Fine. Anyway, If anyone calls, tell them I'll be out for an hour.' Paalala naman ng binata.

'Noted.'

She thought, he will already leave but he just kept standing there, hands in his pocket staring at her.

'What? You're starting to creep me out!' Natatawang sagot ni Maymay.

'No-nothing. I-. I mean. Uhm. You--you look beautiful when you smile.' He said while scratching the back of his head.

And so Maymay smirked. 'Nice try Mr. Barber! Nice try!'
