Hindi naguusap ang dalawa hanggang makarating ng opisina.

Ibinalagbag ni Edward ang pintuaan ng makapasok ito at si Maymay naman nagtatakang umupo sa kanyang pwesto.

'Laki ng problema nito!' Bulong ni Maymay sa sarili.

Agad agad namang tinawagan ni Edward ang ama.

'Hey Dad! Why didn't you tell me?' Bungad nito sa ama pagkasagot.

'Tell you what exactly?' Takang tanong naman ng ama.

'That you allowed Dale to go days earlier than me.' Sagot naman ng binata.

'Oh that.' Sagot naman ng ama.

'Yes, that!' Naiinis namang sagot ni Edward.

'Why do you seem so upset? Wouldn't you like it? No one would be bothering you for the next few days? You will be a free man.' Natatawang sagot naman ng ama.

'Exactly my point. How can I make it without my assistant? Who is supposes to take care of things while she's away? Who would remind me the things I need to do?' L

'You.' Tipid namang sagot ng ama.

'And how do you expect me to do that?'

'Well, you manage to live on your own for a few years now. I'm pretty sure you'll manage being away from her a few days.'

'Seriously? That is insane!'

'No! You're insane. This is the first time she asked for a favor and she had been doing her job pretty well. Give her some slack!' Naiinis na ding tugon ng ama.

'Fine! Whatever!' Saka ito binabaan ni Edward ng telepono.

Kung sa tutuusin, lagi niyang hinihiling noon na magbakasyon ang dalaga para maiwan siyang nag-isa at magawa niya ang mga gusto niya ng walang nakabantay sa kanya.

No one would be barging in his unit so early in the morning para gisingin niya kahit pa sino ang kasama niya. No one would call her in the middle of a night out with his friends. No one would call him out for being late.

But that was before, now is different.

He may have been avoiding to be alone with her but that was for a good reason. Right?!

Sa araw araw nga na uuwi sila sa kanya kanyang bahay ay para na siyang mababali sa kakaisip kung anong ginagawa ng dalaga oh kung naguusap ba sila ni Tanner bago ito matulog. Ano pa kaya ang ilang araw na hindi man lang niya makikita ito.

Agad agad namang tumayo si Maymay para pumasok sa opisina ng boss niya.

'Why didn't you ask for my permission?' Tanong ni Edward kay Maymay.

'I know I have already made it clear before but Mr. Barber, you're Dad was the one who hired me not you.'

'I know but how am I suppose to make plans when you're not telling me?!' Tanong muli ni Edward. He knows he's just making a big deal out of it but why was he not informed isn't still clear to him.

'Well, I already told you earlier so yeah, now you can make plans.' Sagot naman ng dalaga.

'So what am I supposed to do? What if I need something? What if I don't know something?' Tanong muli nito kay Maymay.

'Do you have a cellphone?' Tanong ni Maymay dito.

'Of course I have a cellphone!' He answered with conviction.
