so I had this weird idea for an AU based off that picture of john and alex (the one from my lams oneshot). in this AU the reader can see wings on people that reflect their sexuality, but only she can, no one else knows they exist. it's quite simple, really.

Your POV

I had this really odd... ability.. so to say. I saw wings on everyone, but not just any pair of wings. The wings that people had depended on their sexuality. I won't lie, it's a pretty cool ability.

I was walking through the park, trying not to draw attention to myself as I looked at the many pairs of wings before me. As I was walking, I found a familiar cluster of boys all huddled under a tree together. They were my close friends, John, Alex, Laf, and Hercules. They had blue, red, and black wings. The colors of polyamory. They were all in a relationship together and I thought it was absolutely adorable. I took my phone out and snapped a picture. I'm so showing it to them later. I decided to walk by them, leaving them in their cuddle pile.

After I walked through the park, I walked down to Starbucks. I ordered (your fav Starbucks drink), and when I got it, sat by a window. I was scrolling through Instagram, when someone walking in caught my eye. She had long, dark brown curly locks, and matching chocolate eyes. She was wearing a simple off-shoulder red dress that went slightly above her knees,  and black flats. I swear I could feel my rainbow wings flapping like crazy. I couldn't help but grin seeing a pair of rainbow wings attached to her back. I looked down as she looked my way, trying to focus on my Instagram.

After a couple minutes, I felt someone tap my shoulder. I looked up to see the woman from earlier. "Could I... sit here?" she asked, motioning to the seat across from me. I nodded, smiling. "Sure! Go ahead!" I took a sip from my drink as she sat down. I shut off my phone as she looked at me.

"I'm Maria Reynolds. It's a pleasure meeting you.." she said.

"(Y/N) (L/N). And the pleasure is all mine." I replied.

We made conversation quite easily. We had quite a bit in common. I found myself liking her more and more, so I figured I might as well slide a comment in and see how it went. It's not like I couldn't see that she liked girls anyways.

"So... I couldn't help but notice... you're quite beautiful.." I said, grinning.

A faint blush tinted her cheeks. "Thanks.. I think you're more beautiful though."

I shook my head. "Nuh-uh. Impossible."

It was her turn to grin. "Nothing's impossible, my dear."

My turn to blush. Damn she's good, but two can play it this way.

It must've been at least two or three hours. It was like we've known each other for a long time at this point. We figured though, reluctantly, that we should leave, but meet again.

As I stood up, I grabbed her hand, giving it a quick squeeze before smiling and walking away, letting her see the little slip of paper I put in her hand. I turned around, seeing her look at me with a blush, and I winked before leaving Starbucks.

I figured I'd walk to the Hamilsquad's house, as my polyamorous friends called it. I knocked on the door when I got there. The door opened, revealing Laf. "(Y/N)! Good to see you, mom amie! Come in!" He led me to the living room, where Alex, John, and Herc were, all just chatting. John was sitting on the floor, leaning against the couch. Alex was on the couch, playing with John's floof of a ponytail. Herc was on a chair, grinning. John noticed me first and smiled. "(N/N)! Hey!" I waved to them. I sat down in a free chair while Laf sat next to Alex.

We talked for a bit, when my phone started ringing. I pulled it out and saw an unknown number, but picked up anyways (that's not safe reader-chan you're lucky it's only Maria).

"Hello! (Y/N) speaking~!"

A familiar female voice replied. "Hey (N/N)! It's Maria!"

I smiled, and I took note of the guys looking at me curiously.

"Hey Ri!" I got an idea and smirked. "How's the most pretty girl doing?" Herc whistled, and the other three just grinned.

There was a pause on Maria's end, then, "I don't know... how are you?"

I couldn't help but blush and mutter a 'damnit'. "I'm great, Ri. I can assume you're good then."

"Yeah, I feel better talking to you."

I smiled. "Well, how about this: tomorrow, park at 7?"

"Sounds perfect! I'll see you then, (N/N)!"

"See you then, Ri." Click.

Alex smirked. "Sooo, who's the girl, (N/N)?"

"I met her at Starbucks today. Her name's Maria."

"Well someone's already head over heels," John teased. I playfully rolled my eyes.

"You say that. But look at you four."

They blushed, and I remembered the photo. I got an idea. I figured it was getting late so I decided to head back.

"I'm gonna head out, you guys. Remember, keep it PG! Keep being adorable though that's fine."

They nodded, and I walked out of the living room. When I got outside, I grinned and sent the photo to our group chat.

Lex: (Y/N) why?

Johnny: I'm not gonna question you anymore

(N/N): good you shouldn't

Herc: totally not gonna save that

Laf: same

(N/N): aww look at the softies!💕you make me sick with your cuteness

Lex: Don't you have a home to go to, (N/N)?

(N/N): I'll take that as my leave. have fun you guys~ but not too much fun I swear

Johnny: (Y/N)!!

(N/N): hehehe. byeeeee~ ;)

I smiled and started walking home, and I felt my life get ten times better.
