When, when we came home
Worn to the bones
I told myself, "this could get rough"

We had a bit of a long day. It was tiring at work for the both of us, and I could tell Herc was biting his tongue.

Herc could get physical when angry. I just usually shot out whatever left my mouth first. I ran cold when angry. Let's hope we wouldn't get aggressive tonight.

And when, when I was off, which happened a lot
You came to me and said, "that's enough"

I had come home from a stressful day at work. That seemed to happen a lot. I just wanted to hide under my covers and call it a day.

While sat in our room, Herc walked in. He sat on the bed next to me, resting a hand on my shoulder. A small, sympathetic smile was on his face. "That's enough.."

But we can't cut it out from these veins, no

Our relationship was fine at the start, for a long time. But then more and more problems arose. Herc only seemed to get more and more aggressive as months past. He didn't ever hurt me physically, no. But his words were hurtful when angry.

Our love was pain, from his words. But it was a part of us now, flowing in our veins. We couldn't just get rid of it. You don't cut veins.

So I'll hit the lights and you lock the doors
We ain't leaving this room 'til we bust the mold

I left one lone light on as I heard the click of the bedroom lock. I sat on the bed while he sat on his desk chair.

I looked at Herc. "We have to figure this out."

He knew what I was talking about. "And how?"

"I don't know. But we ain't leaving this room until we figure this sh*t out."

I watched as Herc stalked toward the door, fists clenched. "This 'figuring things out' isn't working!"

"Well rolling your eyes isn't going to help!" I shot back, crossing my arms.

"Well what else am I supposed to do?! This entire love is just pain!"

I stood up from the bed. "Then let's hurt tonight."

I had a pretty normal day at work. Nothing crazy. Nothing upsetting.

Herc stalked in, eyes with a spark but figure tired. He was in yet another mood, no surprise. He didn't acknowledge me, only going up the stairs to where I guessed was our room. I heard the door close forcefully and sighed. 'This could get rough...'

Oh, I know you're feeling insane
Tell me something I can explain, oh

"I know you're going insane, trust me. But you won't feel any less like hell if you don't let me help you."

"I am letting you! You're just not doing sh*t!"

"Well then tell me something I can actually explain! For f*ck's sake it's not rocket science!"

He sat on his chair. I was determined to save whatever was even left.

"I already know you're pissed off. I know you're not telling me things."

Herc forced a laugh. "And?"

I leaned back against the bed post. "Tell me everything you haven't before."

And to my surprise, he did.

"I have all the rights to walk out. I didn't choose this."

"Fine... I'll sit. Just talk.."

Let's say all of the things that we couldn't before

We switched roles. Just maybe, I was finally getting through to him. I locked the door behind me before going to the edge of the bed. We sat a bit more near since last time.

As much as I just wanted to stop at this point -I had practically given up-, I stayed on the bed. Now that I could be getting through, then was the pain worth it?

"For once, you're the one who looks like they want to get the hell out of here."

"Love is pain--"

"--Let's hurt tonight."

"I never thought I'd see a day now with no... problems."

I glanced at Herc. "Don't jinx it. There's still pain between us. It's far from over."

I paused a moment. "But... let's enjoy it. Let's--"

"--love tonight."

I was, needless to say, shocked. So maybe there was hope for a reborn love after all. "..Yeah. Let's love tonight."

I absolutely love that song omg. I wanted to do a oneshot with it, but didn't know what character to do. I chose Herc bcuz not only has it been a while since you've seen something with him, but also bcuz Herc just seems to fit the lyrics to this song. he seems like someone who might have a few problems in a relationship
