John's POV

Alex and I were getting ready to make dinner in the kitchen. I was checking the ingredients on the counter when I heard Alex jumping behind me. I turned to see a funny sight.

Alex kept trying to stretch and reach the box of pasta on the top shelf. Of course, him being the short muffin he was, couldn't reach no matter how high he jumped. I couldn't help but laugh.

Alex turned around, flustered. "What? Haven't seen a small person before?"

I grinned. "Do you need me to get that for you?"

Alex gasped dramatically and clutched his hand to his heart. "HOW DARE YOU INSULT THE VERTICALLY CHALLENGED!"

Alex's comment made me laugh even harder. "Okay then. Have fun trying to get that, Lexi."

I leaned against the counter, crossing my arms with an amused smirk. Alex huffed and turned back around to face the counter.

I watched him for a couple moments, grinning as he kept jumping and even trying to hop up onto the counter. Nothing worked. He sighed, defeated, a bit later and turned back to me, pouting. "Help me, Johnnyyyy!"

I laughed and approached the cabinet, reaching up and grabbing the box of pasta. I handed it to Alex and he put it on the counter. "Tell no one about this..." he muttered.

I chuckled and wrapped my arms around his waist from behind. I pecked his cheek. "Of course not, Lexi. You're too cute of a short muffin."

Alex huffed again, but I could tell he was smiling. "Let's just make dinner."

I ruffled his hair. "Okay."

With that, we made dinner, me throwing in the occasional tease to a flustered Alex. Life couldn't have been better with my short muffin.
