No one's POV

~ second chance ~

It happened again. Where did Lieutenant Coronal (L/N) vanish off to this time? She wasn't with Lafayette this time. But if Washington knew her, she was probably being reckless with Lieutenant Coronal Laurens somewhere. That was like her. Always reckless.

Washington shot a redcoat, seeing two familiar blue blurs dash by to his far right. He made out both a curly brown ponytail and a (H/C) ponytail (if your hair is long enough). He moved himself closer so he could listen to if they were saying anything.

The general noticed how quick the pair was. They both had quick reflexes and could run pretty damn fast. Perhaps that was why they were at the ranks they were at. They were probably the best tag team in his army, when (Y/N) wasn't with Lafayette at least.

In a flash, a redcoat fell in front of them. (Y/N) looked at John briefly before cocking her musket once more. "You need to watch out, Laurens," she scolded, a slight smirk on her face.

John waved her off, firing. "I know, I know. No need to lecture me, (L/N).

"You're like my brother. I have full lecture rights."

John huffed, but a grin was on his face. He was about to reply when (Y/N) jerked her arm back, hissing. "Damnit!"

John immediately aimed his musket at the redcoat on the ground, firing. Turns out he hadn't died. Well... now he was.

Washington was so focused on the scene near to him he nearly missed the musket ball whiz by him. Snapping back into focus, he kept on shooting. He'd have to check in on her later; he knew John would help her out for the time being.

"You got yourself shot again?" Washington asked.

(Y/N) grinned. "At least it wasn't the same leg as Monmouth. That woulda sucked."

Washington dismissed her. "You always have to make sure the redcoat is dead, (Y/N)."

She only looked at Washington. "You never use my name out here. Don't be so worried. I've gotten shot how many times and lived?"

"You and Laurens are both lucky to be alive, honestly. You're both so reckless," Washington muttered.

"Ah, but that's what we do best. It gets the job done after all."
