"...Herc?"

Your POV

Said man turned around. I could barely make out his face in the dark. "Why're you awake, (N/N)?"

I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. "I could ask you the same thing, Herc."

Herc shifted. "Just go back to sleep, (N/N)." That made me realize I had him right where John and I had wanted him. But I didn't need to wake John up.

"If you tell me what you're doing I will," I replied quietly.

Herc turned back to the bag. "Maybe in the morning."

I was determined to get it out of him. "Why not now? You're not leaving... are you..?"

No response. Bingo. I had figured it out, but I was on my own. I didn't want to wake John up, he had already put up with way more than I did.

I asked him again. Still no response. I moved the covers and stood up, careful not to wake John.

"Herc, answer me. Please." I pleaded.

He mumbled a faint "yes".

I shook my head. "Why?"

"Can't we just talk about this in the morning..?" Herc asked softly.

"No, Herc. Because I know if I go back to sleep, you'll be gone. I'm lucky I managed to wake up now..."

More silence.

"Tell me, Hercules; why are you leaving us behind, when you were so upset when Laf and Alex left?"

I couldn't hear his answer. "Speak up..."

"..I've been stressed..." I almost couldn't believe my ears.

"Stressed?" I laughed, not caring about my volume anymore. "Stressed?" I saw John stir, but he didn't wake up.

"(N/N)..."

I scoffed, and could almost feel tears in my eyes. "Don't '(N/N)' me. You don't think neither me or John have been stressed recently? We've been worried sick about you and where you've been!"

"I've been working..!" Herc replied.

"Yeah we know, but after work? We have no idea! You've been talking to Alex trying to figure out how to tell us your plans!"

I could tell he was stunned at my comment. "How do you..."

"Know about that? Next time you leave the house, don't forget your phone," I replied coldly.
