"Take more time to think, please. And learn to understand no means no. You let a very special girl go, and this is the price."

Alexander's POV

I couldn't think straight. For once I lacked words. I only saw one thing. Her ring.

Her engagement ring.

From John. Just John. Not us. Only John Laurens.

We watched them walk away.

"Merde.." Laf murmured.

"She's going to be (Y/N) Laurens," I groaned.

All three of us were at a loss for words.

"He really did take care of her while we were all gone..." Herc said.

"Maybe a little too well..." I replied.

"Non. I don't think so," Laf added.

Herc and I looked at Laf, puzzled. "How?" I asked.

Laf shrugged. "Simple, really. We did leave 'er after all. 'e just want 'er broken again. I don't blame 'im."

I thought a moment, then sighed. "I guess so..."

Herc sighed as well. "It was supposed to be all of us. The ring was supposed to have five gems... not two!"

I nodded. "He's right. But then I decided to f*ck up... literally!"

"Then I left for France when I could've stayed."

"I left the house in a passing anger."

I looked at Laf and Herc. "Well, we have each other!"

Herc grinned and pulled us into a hug. When we let go, Laf pulled us to a nearby bench and we all sat down.

We just sat talking, when Laf spoke up. "Remember when we went to the beach?"

Herc laughed. "Remember how I tried to jump over that huge wave?"

"And it knocked you right over!" I exclaimed. We all cracked up laughing.

Flashback -

Herc was out in the water with Laf, and I was standing by the water. John and (Y/N) were fooling around nearby.

I spotted a huge wave on the horizen. "Herc! Laf! Check that out!" They turned.
