Your POV

My life had done a complete 180 in a matter of seconds. I was a college student, trying to get to my college, when life decided to throw my own life away... literally. A red SUV had rammed into my own car. All I had remembered was the black spots surrounding me, and my life slowly slipping away from me.

But now I remembered everything. Why? The crash killed me. So here I was now, stuck in a black nothingness. Where was heaven, or even hell? I couldn't contemplate long before there was a flash, and I found myself in a bright, sun-yellow room.

In the middle of the cheerful room, sat a little girl no older than six years-old. She was wearing a pastel yellow dress and a pair of white leggings. The tiny girl had thick, dark brown ringlets of curls that bounced as she moved her head. Her eyes were a matching chocolate brown, and they had that bright, child-like sparkle in them. Needless to say, she was adorable.

The girl was sat at a tiny white table, surrounded by mini white chairs. Stuffed animals were placed on the chairs, ranging from a black cat to a small gray elephant. On the table was a play teapot with a pink rose on it. Matching cups were in front of each stuffed animal, as well as her. There were a few extras on the plush carpet.

The girl looked up, her gaze meeting mine. Yet she wasn't scared. She smiled brightly at me, almost like I hadn't just got there. "Hi miss! I'm Peggy!" Curse cute little six year-olds and their innocence.

I was confused, but returned the smile to the girl... Peggy. "I'm (Y/N)! What're you doing, Peggy?"

"I'm having a tea party! Would you like to join?" Peggy answered.

I giggled. "Sure, sweetie!"

I walked over to the small table, kneeling down at the little table. Peggy reached down for an extra cup. She almost fell, but placed the small cup in front of me, adjusting herself.

"You're very friendly, (Y/N)! I wish my sisters could have a tea party with me." A cute little pout crossed her face.

"Thank you, Peggy! Who are your sisters? I'm sure they'd love to have a tea party with you!" I asked.

"Well, there's Eliza, who's..." she paused to count, "seven! And Angie, who's eight!"

I giggled at her enthusiasm as Peggy continued telling me all about her family and her other small friends. She talked a lot about this boy named John, who was seven like her sister Eliza, and that he loved turtles. I knew it was young, primary school love right then and there.

There was suddenly a knock at the door, causing me to freeze. I put the small tea cup down (which I didn't even realize I could hold), as a woman entered the room. "Pegs? I heard you talking to someone."

"I made a new friend, mommy! Her name is (Y/N) and she's super nice! She's having a tea party with me right now, right (N/N)?" The fact that she used a nickname made me grin.

Peggy's mom looked right past me. It dawned on me she couldn't see me. "Oh! Is she an imaginary friend of yours?"

Peggy shook her head. "She's real! She can even pick up the tea cup!"

"How old is this... (Y/N), Pegs?" her mom inquired hesitantly.

Peggy tried counting, but didn't get far. "I don't know... but she's older than ten, mommy!"

"I see... How about you hang out with Liza and Ange? I'm sure (Y/N) could always come back!"

"Hmm... maybe later! I just wanna finish this tea party!"

"Alright, Pegs. Mommy loves you!"

"Love you too, mommy!" Peggy responded cheerfully as her mom gently closed the door. Peggy looked back at me. "I can't believe mommy thinks you're fake! You're super duper real!"

"I suppose so. I don't think your mommy saw me though."

Peggy thought a moment. "That's super weird! Shouldn't everyone be able to see you, (N/N)?"

"I don't know, Pegs. But you seeing me makes you really special!"

Peggy clapped her hands and giggled in excitement. "Yeah! It's awesome having an older friend like you!"

"Even if we just met?" I asked.

Peggy nodded furiously, her curls bouncing. "Yeah yeah yeah! We'll be bestest, bestest friends!"

I felt bad for the tiny girl, now realizing I was sent here to be her imaginary friend, to keep her company. Then when she grew up, I'd be forgotten by her, and who knew where I'd go. I already knew I didn't want to leave Peggy behind. And maybe, I didn't have to if I played my actions just right.

"I'm sure we will, Pegs. I'm sure we will."
