Preference #1; How You Met

it's been decided! preferences will be added to this splay of mess I call a book

Alexander;

Like all the other cliches in the world, you and Alex met in a coffee shop! Where else would Alexander Hamilton be?

You worked at the little Starbucks part-time, and this short man always came in, ordering a black coffee and sitting for hours on end, typing furiously on his laptop. Eventually, you decided to plop yourself in the seat across from him. The rest is, y'know, history!

John;

You were visiting a close friend of yours in South Carolina. They were showing you around when you, quite literally, bumped into a (very cute) freckled man.

You could tell he was clearly from this place; if the accent wasn't a giveaway at least. He was a kind and funny guy and you hoped you'd bump into him again before you left. Little did you know it'd be sooner rather than later.

Hercules;

Again, like all the other cliches, guess who needed a sweater fixed?

Rather than buying an entirely new one, you managed to find a local little tailor shop just a couple blocks down. And since you weren't the best at sewing, it was time for a little trip!

You were met with a bit of an unexpected sight. The owner was this tall, broad man who brandished a beanie. And he was pretty cute to say the least. Definitely returning after this.

Lafayette;

It was that time at dusk where you took your usual walk to Central Park, holding onto your Aussie pup's leash.

Of course, (she/he) saw a stranger and immediately wanted to say 'hello!', wriggling their leash out of your grip and taking off like a lil' rocket.

You ran after, only to see the man your Aussie was after knelt down and eagerly petting (him/her). The man was dark-skinned, with matching dark eyes and hair pulled up into a bun. He stood up, handing you the leash and briefly introducing himself before disappearing right back into the dusk.

Philip;

Your two closest friends were Theodosia Jr. and Frances Eleanor Laurens. Frances was hosting her usual annual Christmas party, and needless to say, you were excited.

You were talking with Theo as you exclaimed something, throwing your arms up and almost hitting the poor boy nearby to you.

Flustered, you turned and apologized, quickly noticing he was Philip Hamilton. Everyone knew him, but not everyone had talked to him. Thankfully, he accepted your apology with his usual smile, and you were suddenly glad you were one of the ones to talk to him.

Angelica;

Who didn't know the name Angelica Schuyler? She was well-known around New York for being a clever, quick-witted feminist. Only a few people though had the pleasure of calling her a friend.

You were out with (B/F/N) when some d*ckbag was being sexist... again. You hurried up to the man, easily calling him out as he slunked away.

A strong female voice spoke up behind you, complimenting you. You turned, meeting Angelica's dark brown eyes and wonderful smile. What luck!

Eliza;

You and Eliza went way back, all the way to toddler-hood. Your moms (yes, you see that right), were close friends with the Schuylers, so you were too naturally. Except, you found yourself closest with the middle Schuyler sister.

Peggy;

You met the youngest Schuyler back in your sophomore year of college. After some... unforeseen circumstances, you found yourself with a new dorm-mate. Sporting messy dark, curly locks and a playful demeanor, Peggy was someone you were easily and quickly close to.

And to think... that was only the start of it all!

Maria;

You had known of Maria most of your life, after all, her and James Reynolds were the high school power couple before he... went south.

You had never talked to the girl personally, not that you could remember. But everything changed when one day you heard a knock at the door. Upon opening it, you saw a woman in a tattered red dress, covered in bruises. It took you a moment to realize it was Maria.

Immediately, you ushered her inside, insisting she stay a while until she could accompany you to confront her fiancé.
