Sergio couldn’t keep the smile off his face as he sat down in front of the Christmas tree as he sat Aoife-Belle on his lap; the footballer helping his daughter open her presents.

It had been two weeks since the little girl had come home and slowly the family had repaired itself from the damage that Kendra had caused.

Of course for the first week, Aoife-Belle slept in her parents’ bed until they were sure that she was perfectly okay; they didn’t want anything to happen to her.

“What’s this?” Sergio cooed at Aoife-Belle as he smiled down at her, he carefully helped her unwrap her present; he chuckled as her tiny fingers brushed against the tattoo of her name that now sat on his left hand.

The footballer had wanted to have something of Aoife-Belle’s on his body and he had thought long and hard about what he wanted.

The eight month old was wearing an indigo cotton sweat dress with navy leggings that had been a gift from Paqui that Gabriela had insisted that Aoife-Belle wore it for her first Christmas.

The gesture had warmed Paqui’s heart as she couldn’t stop fussing over her youngest granddaughter; José María sat on the couch chuckling as he watched his son with his daughter.

Gabriela smiled fondly as she watched her boyfriend with their daughter, she was wearing a green jumper with off the shoulder detail and low rise skinny ankle grazer jeans paired with white flatforms.

The couple had received several letters from Kendra begging them to let her see Aoife-Belle before Sergio had spoken with the police about getting them stopped; he didn’t want his daughter anywhere near the woman again.

“Papa,” Aoife-Belle said as she smiled up at her father making him grin, she patted his hands with her small ones as he settled her on the floor.

Sergio couldn’t have been happier when she had mumbled the word to him, he loved how she spoke to him and he couldn’t help but cuddled her each time that she said it to him.

“Papa’s turn to open his presents,” José María said as he moved to collect Aoife-Belle as she started to crawl away from her father; he sat his youngest granddaughter on his lap as Daniella plopped down next to him and cooed at her cousin.

René and Vania were sat on the next couch as they talked softly between one another, everyone seemed relaxed after what had happened two weeks earlier.

Gabriela crossed her arms as she sat down beside her boyfriend, there was one gift that the blonde wished to give him that would have to wait until they were alone.

“Wow did Aoife wrap that herself?” René teased as he looked at a present that Aoife-Belle had gotten for her father; he chuckled as Gabriela rolled her eyes knowing that he was only joking.

Sergio chuckled knowing how difficult it was to wrap anything when their daughter was around, the eight month old seemed fascinated with anything shiny and had tried to unwrap a lot of the presents herself.

Gabriela smiled as she kissed Sergio’s lips and wrapped her arms around his neck, she pulled him closer knowing that this was so much better than the last Christmas that she’d had.

Sergio rested his hands on her hips as he held her close to him, he still couldn’t believe how lucky he was to have everything in his life.

“Sese,” Gabriela murmured as she pulled away from him, the blonde chewed on her lip as she looked up at her boyfriend.

Sergio tilted his head as he watched her, he could see that there was something on her mind and he couldn’t help but wonder what was on her mind; the footballer could see that something was bothering.

“I have one more present for you,” Gabriela said as she stepped back away from her boyfriend, she brushed some hair from her face as she moved to her bedside table and produced a box from the top draw.

Sergio furrowed his brow as he sat down on the bed wondering why she hadn’t given him the gift when they had been opening presents with his family.

“You have given me enough amor,” Sergio said with a shake of his head, he really didn’t want her wasting a lot of money on him for something that he might now use or like.

Gabriela rolled her blue eyes as she handed over the box and smiled at him, she knew that he really wouldn’t be expecting this from her.

“You know that I wasn’t very well when Aoife was missing,” Gabriela said carefully knowing that she didn’t want to give him the wrong idea; this wasn’t something bad and she knew that they had talked about this before.

Sergio nodded his head as he opened the box to reveal a small white stick inside, the footballer furrowed his brow as he picked it up and turned it over.

The Sevillian breathed in sharply as he realised that it was a pregnancy test, his brown eyes snapped up to look at his girlfriend wondering if he had this right.

“I’m pregnant,” Gabriela confirmed with a smile on her face, she had been waiting for the right time to tell him since she had found out after Aoife-Belle had come home safe and sound.

Sergio couldn’t stop himself as he pulled the blonde into a kiss, he held her close to him as joy filled him at the thought of having another baby with his girlfriend.

“We’re having a baby,” Sergio whispered in amazement as he pulled back from Gabriela, he moved to rest a hand on her bump knowing that he had missed out on this moment when she had been pregnant with Aoife-Belle.

So much had been in the way when they had been expecting their daughter that this time there was so much more that Sergio could do this time around.

“You are going to be an amazing big sister,” Sergio whispered as he held his daughter close, he glanced around the quiet living room as he took in how peaceful it was.

The footballer still couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that everything had worked out so well; he had an amazing girlfriend, a beautiful daughter and a baby on the way.

“You’re always going to be mi princesa,” Sergio said as he moved to look out of the window at the snow that covered the gardens, he smiled thinking about how magical it must seem to Aoife-Belle who had never seen it before.

Aoife-Belle cuddled into her father’s warmth as he continued to talk quietly to her since they were alone, everyone else had headed back off home and Gabriela was putting the dishes in the dish washer.

“No man is ever going to be good enough for you,” Sergio said as he rested his head against Aoife-Belle’s, he closed his eyes knowing that one day he was going to be giving her away at her wedding and it wasn’t going to be easy for him.

Gabriela chuckled making Sergio open his eyes and look at her, he raised an eyebrow as the blonde walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his waist.

“She’s lucky to have you as a padre,” Gabriela whispered knowing that there was no one else that she would have wanted for her children’s father; Sergio was perfect to her and always would be.
