"Mark, Jack, Run," I begged, "Leave me here, you can make it out,"
"I wouldn't leave you, ever," Mark said
"Same," Jack replied. Mark was suddenly ripped from me. I fell back my head smacking the pavement. I squeaked a little. Hands grabbed my ankles and my shoulders and I was tossed into the back of a enclosed truck bed. My blood stained the hefty metal. A man crawled into the back with me and sat on one of the benches. I sat up and slowly inched my way to to side of the truck where the benches didn't reach. My hair was falling into my face and my once clean clothes, were now covered in blood.
"Hey, soldier," I said through my teeth. He looked over at me, "How did you get this job?"
"They recruited me," He said, "Now, shut up,"
"What are you going to do? Shoot Me?" I said egging him on, "Honestly, you know that's not going to happen,"
"Shut up," He said. He was annoyed I could tell. We hit a bump, causing my body to shift. My wound scratched and clawed in pain. I hit my head on the metal enclosure.
"Come on," I said, "I couldn't be any worse,"
"I said shut up!" He said through his teeth.
"You're weak," I said. That did it. He was towering over me with the gun in my face, "What are you gonna do kid? Your what, 18? 19? Bet you haven't even shot a gun like that,"
"I Have!" He yelled, "They trained me! I'm 17 and I have killed more people than you could ever imagine," He said with pride.
"Oh yeah?" I said raising one eyebrow, I shifted a bit to get comfortable, "I've killed hundreds, you've barely shot that gun because it's loaded and those bullets are gaining dust,"
He shoved the gun in my face and yelled for me to shut up again. I grabbed the end of the gun and looked at him.
"Shoot me, and you're losing a very VERY valuable thing," I said
"Ya, but what if I don't kill you," He said
"Highly unlikely, you'd get a hell of a scolding from your boss," I said.
"Get up," he said. I tried but failed. I couldn't, it was as simple as that, "Do It! Now!"
"I can't," I said, "What's holding you back?" He seemed shocked by the question
"N-nothing," He said
"Give me a break, What's holding you back!" I yelled. He shot the gun hitting my scarred shoulder. I screamed and felt the warm blood rushing down my arm. The boy dropped the gun and looked at his hands. I groaned in pain.
"What the hell did you do?!" The driver yelled back.
"I shot her," he said in a shocked voice.
"Great, you know how mad Tom's gonna be?" The driver yelled
"Hell ya I do," The boy said, "He's gonna kill me,"
"Shut Up!" I yelled they both went silent, "How long until we get there?"
"I'm not answering anything for you," The boy said. He wrapped a cloth around my mouth and I fell asleep.
I woke up in a blur. Bright lights were hanging above me and an oxygen mask was covering my mouth and nose. The tin table I was laying on was cold. I tried to move my hands and legs but they were strapped to the bench.
"Look who's back," It was Tom's voice. I started to yank at the straps, trying so hard to get free, "Don't bother trying," He sat down in the chair beside my metal bed.
"Where's Mark?" I asked him.
"Woah there, one thing at a time, sweet," Tom said " I heard that you killed a few Reunion soldiers, and I want you in the FR,"
"Where. Is. Mark," I said, completely ignoring what Tom was saying. Tom stood up.
"Bring him in," He said. Mark entered looking worse than before. The man holding him back, shoved him into the chair and tied his hands back.
"I'm missing one," I said.
"Right, sorry, I forgot," Tom said. Jack was ushered. They set out another chair and sat him in it.
"Ev," Mark said tearing up. I started to tear up with him.
"I'm so stupid," Jack said.
"Jack don't say that," I said. It suddenly became hard to breathe. My eyes fluttered as my breath quickened.
