"I think you just shot out four of the biggest gangs cars," Mark said. He continued to drive on the county road. The pain in my side was getting worse. I arched my back and slammed it on the back of the seat, trying to shake the pain. I moaned a little bit.
"Mark drive faster," Jack said from the back, "their gaining on us,"
"Give me a gun," I said dazed.
"No, you sit still," Mark said.
"Mark, it's do or die right now," I said. He handed me the gun he had when he killed my attacker.
"Jack grab my legs," I said rolling down my window. Jack crawled up and held my legs as I leaned out the window. Ethan helped. I shot the gun hitting the driver of one car who skidded and hit the car behind him."Five," I whispered. Aiming was so much harder. I shot the last car, which swerved and started to pop. I must've hit the gas tank. The car went up in flames. Jack and Ethan pulled me back into the car.
"Where's the nearest town," I said holding my bloody wound.
"14 miles," Mark replied. I lost count of myself after that.
I woke up in a new environment. I felt Mark's arms wrapped tightly around me. I was a bed with white sheets. Sunlight was streaming through the white curtains. I shifted a bit, I felt Mark's soft breath brush off the back of my neck. I straightened my back stretching it. I scrunched back into a ball in pain. Mark gently kissed the back of my neck.
"Morning," He said in a gravelly voice. His hands moved to my waist. I opened my mouth a bit and exhaled. I smelled the whiskey on his breathe.
"Morning," I choked out.
"Oh, Ems, I'm so sorry, I forgot," he said. I breathed out, as he moved his hand away.
"It's fine," I slowly shifted over to my other side, so I was now facing him.
"You are such a badass," He said with a smirk.
"Shut up," I giggled
"You are! You shot like what, 7 cars yesterday?" He said
"Yes, it was seven and it's not that big of deal," I started to crawl out of bed when I looked down at the gunshot. It still looked fresh. Everything ached. I sat on the edge of the bed for a bit.
"You okay?" Mark asked sitting on the edge of the bed next to me.
"Fine," I leaned my head onto him. He kissed the top of my head, and wrapped his arm around me.
"You sure?" He asked again.
"How much did you drink last night?" I asked him
"Too much," he said, "I was worried about you,"
"If I die..." I started to tear up, "Don't cry for me, you have a life to live Mark, you've got Ethan and Jack,"
He whipped around and sat on the floor in front of me, clutching my hands.
"Don't you even say that," He said starting to tear up like I was, "You are the only person that matters to me and I won't let you die,"
"Mark...." I choked out. He pulled me into a hug.
"I love you," He whispered through tears. I wrapped my arms around his neck and started to sob.
"You mean to much to me, Ems, I don't think I could live on without you," He choked out. This only made me cry harder.
"Ew, crying," It was Jack's voice. I pulled out of his warm embrace, and turned around to face him.
"Shut the hell up, Jack," I sniffled.
"Uh, breakfast is ready," Jack said. Mark traced my jawline, slowly leading my face back to his. His lips met mine.
