Lights flashed as memories swirled in my head. It finally came to a stop on my friends. My old friends. The ones that left me abandoned, lost and lonely.
"Oh hey," One of them said, then they all turned and looked at me
" Wow you look worse than before," another said. I opened my mouth to say something back to them but nothing came out.
"Oh sweetheart don't bother," The first one said
" We already know what you were gonna say," A brunette one said. All of a sudden I couldn't breathe. I was trying my hardest but I just couldn't inhale anything.
"Just go away you are a pest to us," The blonde said grabbing by my shoulder length hair and throwing me to the ground. They all stared and laughed and I fell into black
I woke up with a jolt. I pulled air in and out harshly. I was covered in a cold sweat. I was never going to sleep again.
I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. 1:30. If I was lucky, Jack was still awake. I threw the covers off of me and walked down the hall to the first room on the left. The crack under the door was beaming with light. A wave of relief came over me.
"Thank God," I whispered under my breath .I knocked lightly on the door. The door handle twisted and Jack's face peeked out from behind it. He realized it was me and opened it all the way.
"What's wrong?" He asked. His hair was wet from a recent shower
"Bad dream," I said. He must have realized how tired I was.
"Come on, let's get you some sleep," he pulled me into a hug and walked me over the bed. I sat down and crawled under the covers. He laid down to and put his arm around me. I fell asleep to the smell of Old Spice and clean hair.
